The Lurker - Idris to Wests?

The bloke is lazy and said he does not like football anyway.

He has been a waste of money for Gold Coast and Penrith.

I know we are struggling for signings but this would be another cap killer.

It beggars belief that on top of all the players the Tigers have let go over the last 12 months we still have to shed more players to sign Idris…........"there's gotta be an investigation"!!

On another subject, someone named Tiger Torch says that we are well under the cap and will be even more so at the end of the year.

So many rumours, my head is spinning.

Don't lose any sleep over them Col, they never eventuate anyway.
As for the Lurker dude, has he ever got anything right?

Let Idris go somewhere else, he has the occasional good game, but more bad ones and seems unsure where his head is, rumour is that he is over NRL.

More to the point - I think the NRL are over him.

Don't need him.

I wonder if this is true. I'm starting to doubt it.

Not a recommended recruitment unless our club has someone who can keep him on track and mentor him otherwise he has a track record of a yo yo.

The only position i'd consider him as would be impact backrower off the bench playing about 20-30 minutes per game. And i wouldnt be paying him much to do that either, certainly not what penrith pays him.

Ava is better value than Big Red. I could see Keith at Manly. They love the older experienced prop.

Idris may settle with less Penrith players around him. I would take him on that kind of money. I would have tough behaviour clauses in his contract. If he doesn't perform by the time Penrith stop subsidising him then I would boot him.

Lawrence to super league… Nope won't happen. I would genuinely ask him to take a pay cut. He is a legend of a bloke and would probably do it. I would in turn give him some performance incentives.

Good thinking on each issue.

Would you hand backa big chunk of your pay , if your boss said that he wanted you to do that , just so he could put another bloke on to do the same work that you do. Being a good bloke has nothing to do with it.

Lurkster has been trolling forums again…..classy bit of reporting...

He's an incredibly resourceful fellow isn't he

1\. Lurker knows nothing more than any of us on this forum.

2\. I wouldn't want Idris anyway. Lazy centre who realistically should be playing second row. I.e he's a poor man's Chris Lawrence.

Jamal is at an important junction in his career.

If he can't make a go of his next contract it's probably the end for him career-wise. So it might be an apt time to sign him.

However listening to him being interviewed previously , he may not care.

thinks he's old at 24 & writes poetry . certainly not your cookie cutter style footballer .

from penrith's point of view they already have the jennings brothers , blake , dwz & mansour in the backs so it makes sense for them to offload him .
manly already have lyon , matai , hiku & trbojevic . doesnt make sense for them .

personally , I'd roll the dice & sign him . we need a big body out wide .

Idris seems like a nice bloke but he's got a touch of the Daine Laurie about him. I'm less worried about his form and more concerned with his injury issues. But if Penrith paid a stack of his contract? Maybe…

If he has sorted out his personal stuff, I'd love to have him

If you think about it we currently have just 1 genuine first grade centre in Simona, that's it :/

He's a bit like Eric Grothe Jr - could be an awesome player if he put his mind on the job, but his head and his heart seems to lie elsewhere.

Agree, it's not his playing ability that would concern me , it's his mental status .
Then again were all basket cases

Indeed

No Thanks

We have had our share of "Potential" Signings.

There is a reason the Dogs, Titans and Penrith are letting him go without a fight.
