The magnitude of this defeat

got hammered by probably the club with the weakest squad in the nrl. they were missing players as were we, they had a new spine as did we, so no excuses there. we have a bunch of over payed thugs in our ranks and things could get very ugly this season if today's performance is anything to go by. that performance against the bunnies and we would have conceded 70+. the dragons have the worst offense in the nrl and put 44 past us? what a joke! everyone except tedesco, sue, fulton, richards and taupau should hold their heads down in shame, what a joke! and no this is no overreaction, just look at round 1 last year, very similar vibe, we are NO chance of making the top 8.

We where no chance of making the top 8 to start with…

then what is the point of watching? if you know we are no chance, you are better off spending ur time on something else ?

I think today we proved that we a deserved spoon favs.

The worst attack in the league minus their best attacking player nearly put 50 on us…

all this fulton hype is just getting stupid,he does nothing while he was out there and gets praise for it :roll
tedesco was ok his try was fantastic and richards was solid

Expect the wooden spoon at the end of the year and beated by 60s by team like Manly, Souths, Roosters or the storms. Long days aead.

I'm afraid I have to agree. Another long year for us WT fans

Agree with all commetns on this subject.

Going to be a long season if things don't change.

Make the players watch the game over and over again then individually explain to their team mates what they will do to improve.

No coincidence that Brooks was better on his debut with no Robbie Farah. Is Farah part of our poor attacking options and Brooks should be our 5th tackle option.

Taupau had a good debut and Gravet at least bent the line in attack even though he can't tackle.

I think its round one. They will improve - long way to go.

Agreed. The performance yesterday was an improvement on the last match in 2013\. A few of those young blokes from last season look that little bit bigger and faster.

The positives outweighed the negatives in my opinion. Probably will be worse days ahead and consistency will be the key challenge for this squad. Give them time.

Yes they are an average team - there is no disputing that. Any objective person will tell you the same thing. Having said that, they will not lose every game and they will improve. It would not surprise me if they turned it around next week and beat the Titans. What will be interesting is what the peeps on the forum will say then…

They lost by 20 pts, but the game was much closer than that. We were down 7-3 in the penalty count (or thereabouts) at half time and only down by 2 points. All that defending is going to catch up to an avg semi fit round 1 team in the heat. The aim for this team is to improve on discipline and working with the refs to maintain discipline at all times (Robbie, Braith and Blair should co-ordinate this). If we can do that, we will be much more competitive.

The only players in the team yesterday that had complete shockers were Paterson and Leluia. I dare say that they will not be picked for the next game. There were positives for every other player - remember 4 players did not even train with the team for most of the week.

Not sure what the point of this thread is, at least the title anyway. You aren't telling us anything we don't already know. We were outsiders yesterday, so that already said a thing or two about where our season is heading. Expect nothing till 2016 at the earliest.

I think the players should be made watch that horrible excuse for a first grade match, there were only a handful of players that seemed interested. I thought Woods was pretty poor too, what's up with him :exclamation:
Hopefully our season will improve, but that will only happen if the team wants to win, and puts a bit of heart and soul into the game

What I hate most is people who say its only round one, then its only round 6 things will get better, well I have bad news for them things will only get worse, because Potter does not seem to be a tough coach and he will keep Anasta in the team all season long. The defence is not bad it is down right dreadful they don't seem to have any idea, they don't lock the ball up they turn there backs in the line, our A-grade know not to do that, and if they do they get hammered at training.

It was the attitude shown that was disturbing to say the least

If we don't win this week and show the same attitude as Round 1 I will go out on a limb and say we will be 0/7 by the end of Round 7

If we are 0-7 , Potter won't have a job by seasons end

Forgot to add , it's only the players that can change their attitude

They need to take full accountability for what is going on
