At least we get to enjoy him for NSW. The series winning try won't be beaten for my highlight of the year.

Our club has been a basket case for yrs , coaching turn overs .. CEO turnovers.. less than desirable training facilities .
I had no problem with Teddy leaving I did have a problem with the way he done it ... until our club gets its act together players of Teddy’s caliber will never be seen in a Tigers jersey ... Teddy’s not to blame the mugs that have run our club into the ground are !

Many on this forum never recognised Tedesco as the best FB in the game (the grass is always greener .._ :rage: ), they would say that Tedesco is the read book, an old dog that cannot be thought new tricks, that his running style is wrong, that his sweeping runs are not effective against a good defence etc, etc. So they were happy to move our best FB ever, to a centre or to swap him for Moylan or Wighton ???:-1: :rage:

Circular argument. How can the club get better when star players leave?

Take the Titans for example, probably THE rock-bottom club at this time. Financially suspect, future suspect, long history of failure and insolvency, just sacked the coach. QLD Origin coach was ID'd in the media as a replacement and pulled out the day after Brennan got the sack.

Talk of Jai Arrow leaving. What do Titans have to do to retain him? Offer him overs, media reported today 5 years $4M. So the struggling clubs are often forced to make certain high-risk deals in order to try and climb back to being a competitive and attractive location to play footy. And the higher value the deal, obviously the less salary cap space.

So it's all well and good to say "Roosters have superior management" or "I don't blame Tedesco for leaving this basketcase of a club", whilst totally ignoring how difficult it is for poor clubs to try and climb to match a level of rich clubs. So specific to Tigers, how can compare our Chairman Fatty O'Barrell with Roosters Chairman Nick Politis? One is likely a well-connected ex-pollie, the other is a definitely well-connected business leader. Difference being, Uncle Nick is worth half a billion dollars through his own business smarts and good fortune. You aren't competing on an even playing field against billionaires and movie stars. Souths can fly in Rusty and make certain deals happen.

So it goes back, the struggling clubs NEED their best players to stay, otherwise it's just self-fulfilling that they will struggle. You have to have the good players FIRST before the continued success comes.

Specifically for Tedesco, Tigers identified and developed him over a very long period. He's not just some kid we pinched from another junior catchment when he turned 18. And when he established himself as one of the best FBs in the game, he left, because REASONS.

So what do Tigers do? Make a risky deal with a fat Kiwi to sure-up the short term, sign a dwarf ex-Bulldog plying away in ESL as backup, then leap when a rep-calibre Dogs player becomes available due to Bulldogs misfortune. Fast-forward a year and the Kiwi is gone, the dwarf is the STARTING FB and fans complain that Mbye is playing Origin but not Tedesco-ing in any particular position.

All that nonsense doesn't happen if Tedesco stays. So yeah certainly management can be better, but also management has to clean up the mess when the superstar player decides to leave for his own reasons.

The Tigers have to become Madgerised. Set valuations on players and buy within budget at a set value. If clubs pay more move on. Develop juniors and only pay top dollar for stars that come through the ranks. Create a club the next Tedesco doesn’t leave. Pay more for younger players outside of the cap to create a pipeline .
The Storm are the best example but it’s a long term strategy and the club has to back long term coaching to do it. Madge is the man for the job Sheens was the last.

The clubs that overpay for names always suck. Every year in the NFL bad teams pay huge money in free agency clubs that build through the draft always dominate. When a star comes through lock them up long term.

No more Mbye, Reynolds, Blair signings it never works out for us. Gareth Ellis and Matterson are our two best signings along with Prince. All were low contracts.

There really should be more reward for developing juniors, 15% of their salary not counting towards the salary cap would be a good start.

The concept you suggest early in your piece = the roosters exactly, and suprise suprise hes at the roosters, yes i would be sick to thinking like that. as i stated before. Tedesco nothing but loyaty person and player is all he has shown me and many thousands of tedescos other fans. and again all you say is wrong really looking on, Cooper cronk is a terrible player i wouldnt even sign him if he paid us to play with our team. but then again seems like you really know everything, i wont even bother. you go chase cronk such a great player go down in history wow imortal even.i see how you can be made sick. hopeless the storm stars made cronk but he is hopeless except a couple of kicks Tedesco is a player that will rewrite the history books. simple. @Sart0ri good suggestion. To rid the NRL of the pillaging of high end tàlent, the NRL must mandate that each club should have X number of junior clubs to be eligible to compete.in the comp. This could also be backed by very strict definitions of what constitutes a junior to prevent the Rorters from busing in kids. Then the NRL could reward the clubs who produce juniors through significant salary cap incentives. And no Nick, Camden is not in your junior area

I think Parker is a slight upgrade on Malakai Zelezniak....tries hard and has the occasional moment but generally bit below average...the sorta guy who keeps the consistent first graders, if fit, on their toes.....no thanks
