I never said I was in with Tigers administration, but its not like Lote decided to come to Tigers for charity is it?"

Why would any player come to the Tigers for charity? Lote Tuqiri is a professional athlete who is getting paid to play Rugby League and has an opportunity to do so with the Tigers - whether you agree or not.

How many current players at the Tigers are playing for charity? Your argument is flawed.

you may wanna add Ayshford there too,he could be the one to go.

I very highly doubt it.
Sheens has big plans for Ayshford, and has done for several years. And rightly so.
As Benji told me not too long ago… "This kid ain't gonna be BIG......he's gonna be BIG-GER!!"

Oh agreed he is in the plans…..but at centre???

He has dropped a few lines about him being in the forwards.

I think you may find Ayshford fits the bill for the transition from centre -> 5/8th -> lock. He will eventually move out of centre, but not right now at 93kgs and not before serving his apprenticeship in the top grade. This kid still has plenty of growing in him yet.

It was a sarcastic comment Willow. Truthfully, I meant he's getting paid the big bucks to be there…

For sure, has the frame to be a monster, and is a pretty handy footballer to boot.

Speaking of big younguns, whats happened to Simon Dwyer.

I know Sheens has a huge wrap on him,and he played firsts last year.

This year unsighted,by me anyway.

Dwyer, Jason Schirnack and Rhys Curran are all injured as far as I am aware

So what. So is Benji Marshall, so is Robbie Farah. Class players demand good money. The only backline players in our team close to Tuqiri's ability are Lawrence and Tuqiri. What is your point Beau?

Ability?…

It's about time all this ability is turned into performance.....Bah....I have to stop watching old games!!!!!!

that's my point....

A bit harsh on Marshall and Farah. Marshall, in my view, was (with Hayne) the most dominant player in the NRL at the back end of last year. Whilst Robbie had a comparatively poor year last year, he has been in the top 2 rakes in the game for the past 5 years.

Lawrence has done everything asked of him every time he has stepped on the field over the past 12 months.

My prediction is that Tuqiri will surprise a few of the doubters on this site. I have been wrong in the past, very rarely though , but I dont expect to be wrong on this one.

Geo, I was talking to Cubby. Is Cubby actually you and you logged on with the wrong user?

Nope..I was talking to you….I don't have another username... 😕

About ability...is that OK

Yes...those players you mention have played up to their ability at times...no where near consistant enough....

Imagine an On Song Farah, Marshall..at the same time ....Look out....

Then again ...I thought that in '06 '07 '08 and '09.....

Throw Lortay in the mix in '10... even adds more expectation.....

Oh...I see now....should have deleted the cubby

From speaking to Dwyer at the Foundation Cup, he should be right for the season opener, along with Akeripa. Both had ankle injuries they are recovering from, although both also look very fit. I imagine they'll both be running out for the Magpies though, which gives them a very strong side.

Exactly. If you want to attract the big stars, you've gotta dish out the big money. Alot of people, rightfully so, seems to only talk up what Lote Tuqiri will do for us OFF the field. Some people seem to forget that in the last decade, he was without doubt the most destructive winger in either code for a fair chunk of it.

People familiar with LT's situation would be aware of his lack of motivation in the last few years. I honestly think coming back to league for alot less than what he could've got in Europe shows he has that killer instinct back.

Wendell Sailor was terrific last season, and he's 5 years older than Lote….and nowhere near as good as what Lote Tuqiri is as a player.

Did Farah really have a comparatively poor season last year though? There were games where he took a backseat to Benji and Moltz, but I'd say overall he was without doubt the best hooker in the comp last year. That game he had against Souths in the back end of last year was the most dominant individual performance I've seen from a player in years.
