The Problem with the Tigers attack is

I do respect your opinions Geo but the Tigers total lack of attack has become obvious to anyone who has the remotest interest in the NRL.

Farah was brought back towards the latter part of last season to get some fluidity in our attack after all he is the man who touches the ball more than any other in attack. It hasn't improved one iota.

There is no sense in waiting until round 10 to fix something that is bleeding obvious.

Well 1st let me start by saying I agree with you that Liddle should be the starting 9 but we actually scored more points per game with Farah in the team last season in the backend of the year than we did earlier in the year even accounting for the early season wins..where that's a co incidence or not IDK

it was the middle 3rd of the year that lets us down badly and points dried up and losses mounted..

Not sure if you noticed, but our attack was garbage before Farah signed last year as well. We have VERY LITTLE genuine attacking threats when we have the ball.

Our entire forward pack, besides Matterson and maybe Twal are workhorses. They do a lot of work but have no impact on the game. Our backs have no speed or anything elusive about them, except for Brooks. Our attack is poor all over the park.

I’ve been in the R Farah camp for ages and ages….... but I think it’s time for Jacob to stand up and start games. Farah should start from the bench just like what he did last season at the rabbits. Give it 2 months and if Jacob can handle 80 mins then Robbie should step down. Whether that happens or not depends of J Liddle himself and I’m sure Robbie will quite happily do WHATS BEST for wests tigers.

Based on yesterday's form you would pick Gamble ahead of both Benji and Reynolds, however it was only a Trial game. Have a feeling the coach will go with Brookes and Benji, with Farah at hooker and Reynolds will be on the bench. Though would rather see Liddle on the bench with three replacement forwards.

I have read all the posts in this thread and have to say that in my view many on here have a very simplistic view of the game. Fans can't possibly think that the reason we didn't score points in any particular game was due to one player. In the current era, the pack and bench are the foundation of the game. Everything runs from how your pack performs, especially your halves. Our forwards need to be able to give our backs some time and space, anyone who has ever played at 7 will know what it is like when your pack is dominated and back peddling and the opposition are in your face before you can take a step. Most issues that happen on the field evolve as the game goes on and are a result of how your forwards are going in the battle.

Unfortunately, at the moment, we don't seem to have the kind of guys that can break the line, attract defenders, offload and instill fear and concern in the opposition. Maybe it will come, Matterson and Mikaele could help with this and Garner seemed like he had the intent. I agree with the posters that are saying Farah and Marshall are not our biggest problems, nor are they the reason we aren't scoring points .

Last year Marshall was good for the first 5 or 6 games. Then he slowly fell away as the season progressed. If he is going to start at 6 - now is the time to do it, while he is fresh.

That being said, I’d go for Reynolds but based on a few of Maguire’s comments and his earlier keenness to get Benji in the NZ squad, I’m thinking Benji will be our 6 come round 1.

Liddle will get his chance he’s not been physically ready for First Grade yet. I hope he takes Farahs role as does Robbie he has said that but he hasn to take the position. No more coming on missing tackles, dropping balls etc he has to be trusted to at least be solid.

He can spark the attack but can also cost us games. I’m tipping he will play more minutes by round 14.

The biggest issue is LIDDLE cannot play for 60 minutes.

Look I get it. Farah is too dominating at Hooker. But Liddle is not ready to go 80 minutes.
Send Farah out for the first 30, let him get beaten up then bring on Liddle when people are tired and a fast ball running half can reek riot.
The sad thing is Taylor got rid of Farah instead he should have thought how he can transition Farah into a hard working defender, second rower or someone up front. The guy Bleeds Black and Orange.

Anyway Farah was not our attacking problem with this trial nor normally during the game. Reynolds seemed to be AWOL, Mbye not much better, Brooks was great, and Corey Thompson needs to go to reserve grade NOW. Mahe, that wing spot is now YOURS.

I agree but the problem is both Benji and Robbie on ability now don't deserve to be in the top team.

100% correct. Robbie kills us out there. It's been obvious for a while. We have a chance with Liddle at 9.

Same old nonsense before a ball is kicked.
This is a solid Tigers team probably the best we have fielded in numerous years. It’s not a top 4 side and won’t win a premiership but will challenge for a finals berth.

Brooks and Mbye have to take charge of the side. Robbie needs to run from 20-20 and then let Brooks take control in the red zone.

Yawn here we go again. Some of you have very short memories. Liddle was bouncing off tackles last season, let's see how he copes with week to week football this season.

I agree with many on here that Liddle has not proved his ability to take the spot and the concern that he may not be up to it, especially defensively. What concerns me is that because of Farah's experience WT will rely on him as a crutch and Liddle wont get a real opportunity.
So we make top 4 this year with Farah at 9 what about when he retires and Liddle goes elsewhere? I imagine Liddle will make mistakes and may even cost us games but Farah is also capable of that. Realistically, are we looking at top four this year or building something?
I'd rather toss the dice.

Never let anything get in the way of a good old Farah Rant.
It’s sort of like Groundhog Day.
Never mind we’ve still got a speedster like Reynolds on board, ( and he loves the club)
