The punters/Tim Grant

Unlike last season, this year we have depth,so when injuries and rep duties hit us we will have the cattle to cover them. The trick will be keeping the fringe players interested when they are stuck in the lower grades waiting for their big break. Like with any sport, the better the standard of comp usually makes it easier to play better. Just love to see one of the young kids who have not tasted the top grade like Seve get a chance and cream it

Real hats off to the recruitment this year. The players purchased all hold their own already, but also have that potential upside we found in taupau and Austin.

It's really a solid foundation and depth to grow the quality even further in 2017.

I like the timing of this too. Great morale booster leading into the season!

Our recruitment this year is the best it has ever been, just have a look at these signings, two big name players are included

Matt Ballin
Tim Grant
Josh Addo Carr
Josh Aloiai
Michael Chee-Kam
Joel Edwards
Rod Griffin
Jordan Rankin
Jesse Parahi
Jack Littlejohn
Billy McConnachie
Justin Hunt

With out losses being

Sitakeli Akoula
Salesi Funaki
Keith Galloway
Matt Lodge (sacked)
Te Maire Martin
TIm Moltzen
Martin Taupau
Pat Richards
Matt Woods

IMO the ins far outweigh the outs, as much as i would have loved to keep Keithy the new interchange rule wouldn't suit him. Salesi and Martin would have been nice to keep but you can't keep them all. Taupau was after the money that we couldn't offer, greatly over rated anyway.

Looking forward to seeing all our new recruits in action.

I imagine there will be some hits and misses amongst the new recruits, but it's definitely an improvement defensively.

Good signing. A player with plenty of experience looking for a new opportunity and will hopefully return to his best here.

yep good work from the recruitment team, identified the areas needed and targeted good, cheap signings. still not happy with ballin though.

only issue with tim i have is cheap penalties and laziness in the ruck, i've seen us target him when playing against penrith.

welcome to tigers timmy

Agreed. Our recruitment and retention has been spot on. Ballin is a mistake but I reckon they signed him as a backup in case Robbie left.

Fancy all these guys wanting to come and play under Jason Taylor….whom is obviously a mug...

Doubt that.. More likely they just want to play in the NRL .. Beggars can't be choosers

Taylor should get some credit for the recruitment this year. It's been really good. Stating that they came to play for Taylor though is similar to stating that Taylor stuffed up last year because he was trying to teach us how to defend over the long term. Basically it's delusional.

The pressure is on Taylor now a lot more than what it was previously. He has plenty to work with.

It's not like Taylor's signed up any marquee players …were still to much of a basket case for that to happen .
Given the garbage on and off the field in the last few seasons I'm not that bothered to be honest .
( Im not expecting too much this season)
As long as I don't see Taylorball MK VI and the team never give up, thats all that's all we can hope for .
By the way , just seen Farah on a Lowes commercial !
He's hit rock bottom  ... Or Lowes must be desperate ?!

2 years is a much better signing than the 3 Reported..Welcome aboard Tim size and experience with Souffs picking up the majority of the tab…win/win..

Isn't Grant signed to Rabbits for the 2018 season? hes only signed to us till 17' what happens after the 2017 season?

Sorry if its already been covered but does anyone know what portion of his contract is being picked up by souths, not really used to it generally its the other way around.

I understand what your saying Hobbo , but when was the last season when we picked up two players with SOO experience ??

I think Robbie is pushing his new clothes line Hobbo , all the shirts have big knife tears in the back

On the front they have Watto's slogan "I run the club , not the stupid coach "

Expected to go absolutely gangbusters some time this season

Good signing and suddenly our forward pack looks a lot more solid. Hopefully Grant settles in well and can regain the type of form that earnt him a Blues jersey.

Great news
I sniffed us out at a position of 7 in the comp and we would be a pest team
Now I think we can be a top 8 and be a real pest to all who come before us and that means top 6
Yep I'm so confident now with this gain that we have some real punch up front

Woods, Grant , Robbie , mad Billy , Ava , Sue , Griffen , Sirro , it just seems to go on
And then we have our new smokies
Rankin, Jesse , Addo ,
Matt Ballin , tackle machine
Cherry. Ready to go on
And I haven't even said
Brooks , Teddy , Mosses , and and and
I think I need to just relax ,
Tiger fans , I say get ready for one of the best years we have had for a long time
All we need is this group of players to Beleive they can do it and I think they can
Go you good things
TIGERS for life

Would have been negotiated in the release from Souff's….not really our problem ...2 years is a good contract length for us...if he kicks on and recaptures his Origin form he can extend...if not we aren't stuck with another player we want moved on..

He just needs to come on for Woods and keep the yards churning and the middle tight. If he can do that it's another piece of the puzzle.

Ava replies Sue and Grant replaces Woods. Can't argue with that front row rotation.
