Gutter journalism waiting till game day to print these kinds of articles.

Grow up - it's because it's game day that they write stories related to the teams that are playing.
If there's an accident on the Harbour Bridge today do you want them to report it next week in case it upsets someone involved in the crash?

So you support **potentially destabilising articles on game day**?

Is that you Robbie?

 Do you seriously think a story like this destabilises the players - and the journo does it on purpose for that result?
This is about the 1000th story about Taylor and Farah - I think the players are over it by now.
Once they think the public are over it they'll stop writing about it.
At present they need to fill space and people want to read about what's going on around the teams.

I'm sure it doesn't affect the team, but the intent is there.

Even Steve gets it.

I remember reading something about this incident when it was fresh (but not what was said or the jibes), from memory JT was newly appointed and he wanted Robbie to NOT join the Kangaroos in the off season as he was scheduled for some sort of surgical operation which meant he had to delay it if he joined the Kangaroos but naturally Robbie refused.

I'll try to dig up the article but no promises.

I remember something similar. These sorts of stories are probably a dime a dozen in the NRL, but it only gets aired through the media at one club.

That's not true. This stuff comes up all the time. It's journalists today rather than our club.

Hooper is a dead set haemorrhoid of a human being, a try hard clown. But he didn't write today's article.
You would hope that the Telegraph would have something more relevant to write about…....like Rothfield's dirty dealings.
Give them something interesting to write about tomorrow Tigers by beating the Cows this arvo.

New Tigers coach Jason Taylor asked Robbie Farah to sacrifice his Test jumper for the club

JASON Taylor’s opening fortnight at Wests Tigers has left no one in any doubt about who is calling the shots at the notoriously divided Concord headquarters.

Aside from sacking club legends Steve Roach and Paul Sironen, Taylor asked captain Robbie Farah to consider sacrificing his Australian Test jumper in order to be fresh for the start of pre-season on November 5.

Farah, the Tigers most influential player on and off the field, requires a nose operation to help repair his breathing.

Robbie Farah needs a nose operation to help improve his breathing.
The procedure means the Australian Kangaroos back-up hooker will be sidelined from contact training for six weeks after the operation, interrupting his pre-season.

Aware Farah is the Tigers most important player, Taylor sounded out his new captain to consider pulling out of the Four Nations with a view to immediately undergoing the knife.

But with only seven Test jerseys in his collection and appearing certain to be selected for the opening Four Nations Test against New Zealand next Saturday, foregoing the green and gold was no small ask for Farah.

“Robbie considered it long and hard and what pleased me the most was he was prepared to put Wests Tigers and my wishes above Robbie Farah and playing for Australia, which is a very big call,” Taylor said.

“When we worked it out he was going to be unavailable for a similar amount of time anyway so in the end we finished in a really good place on it.

“It was a good process for both of us to go through.”

Kangaroos coach Tim Sheens will select Farah on the bench for the opening Test, with four of the Kangaroos rookies selected in the squad of 24 set to make international debuts.

South Sydney’s Dylan Walker is tipped to be chosen at right centre with fellow Kangaroos rookie Josh Mansour on the right wing, with Sydney Roosters flyer Daniel Tupou and Wests Tigers prop Aaron Woods also set to win maiden Kangaroo jumpers.

Manly’s Daly Cherry-Evans will be selected at five-eighth to replace the injured Johnathan Thurston, opening up a position on the bench for Farah.

Farah said he respected the way new coach Taylor handled the request to sit out the Four Nations.

“We spoke about it. It was always planned to get my nose fixed up,” Farah said.

“When we had a talk JT floated the idea of getting it done straight away and I could understand where he was coming from.

“At the same time it’s not every day you get the opportunity to play for your country and realistically this could be my last chance.

“There’s no tour at the end of next season so it could be the last opportunity for me to pull on the green and gold.

“You never take for granted representing Australia because you never know when your last chance might come. It’s a huge honour and so in the end we found a way to make it work.”

Farah will turn 31 in January and will once-again form a key element of NSW Blues coach Laurie Daley’s State of Origin campaign against Queensland in the middle of next season.

Will Taylor instruct Tedesco to forgo a possible Kangaroo jersey to have a nose operation and be available for WTs' if selected?

Forget about the players, it upsets people like you that may be considering whether or not to attend. It was a rubbish story, end of story.

I loved this part:
Farah considered snubbing the Roos at the request of his new coach but decided not to after seeking advice from family and friends. We have been told Taylor called Farah “selfish’’ and the wily hooker replied by saying “well, that is a decision you have never had to make’’ referring to the former Wests, Norths, Northern Eagles and Eels player’s lean representative career which consisted of just two games for NSW and three for City.

He didn't instruct Farah to do that so i can't see why he'd instruct Tedesco to.

Gallo, to be fair he should also call Teddy selfish if he refuses

If that's what happened, it would be consistent.
I hate coaches telling players to miss rep games. Even city/country games. It's selfish of coaches to put rep games behind club games. It shows little respct for the players and the code imo.

Remarkable this type of lively exchange can actually make more fans out of waverers in the public. They love a bit of drama. My mum only become a cricket fanatic after that underarm bowl against the Kiwis. So don't think necessarily bad for the game - many will be waiting for the next exciting episode.

You are right there, my Dutch neighbour only watches the GF and SOO in NRL otherwise a diehard soccer fan. It is a time when we should be showcasing our champions like Teddy etc. to get big TV dollars in.

Just because it dares to have critism of our latest koala bear in it. As much chance of being correct as anything written here

There are some on here who would deny Farah or someone close to him leaks these stories. I would ask, who else do they think knows the details of these personal conversations? Do they think it's Taylor telling everyone about the zinger Farah got off in private?

It's transparent and it never ends.
