The sharks are confident.

We should be too classy for the Sharks, especially in the backs…...

Ayshford and Lawrence match up very nicely against Pomeroy and Best.

And our 6/7/9 match up pretty well too.

Tigers by 16.

Agree with Simonthetiger. The forwards cancel each other out whilst our backs should run riot.

There are no easy games in the NRL anymore. For me its not a case of how much we win /lose by because that depends on the opposition on the day. I'm happier if we win by 4 against a good Sharks team than if we win by 20 against a bad outfit.

I'm looking for more professionalism this year and an ability to shut close games out, starting with Round 1.

This more than anything will tell us how far into september we go,we need to learn how to do this, and quickly.

Sunday afternoon at Leichhardt and I can't wait - am bringing the kids along too, the little one to her first game.

Should be an absolutely amazing atmosphere and if the team plays tight and does the hard yards I reckon we should have a good win. Line speed in defence & patience in attack will be key.

And let's all give Bryce Gibbs a big cheer when he runs out. I fervently hope he's on the losing side, but I can't help but like the guy. A bit of sunshine would be nice too!

The best part of being a footy fan is the optimism coming into that first round. I remember in the 90's every year convincing myself that the Tigers would be a better side this year, Id be disapointed if the Sharkies were not confident coming into round 1, they have recruited a former Dally M winner, they should be confident going into the year.

So should we tho! Love the excitement of a new season.

If you aren't confident in round one something is wrong.

I just hope our players/staff aren't as overconfident as some on here.

At this stage of the season all 16 teams are confident of a good showing.

It's a long pre season and all players should be ready to go.

Sharks on paper have a good forward pack and good scrum pairing but the backs look ordinary. Hard to see bysides Carney where the points are going to come from.

Our backs should be too classy and show run out easy winners in the end. Just run off Marshall's beautiful passes.

Carney needs to be kept in check.

I wonder if we will see a "mock punch up" between great pals Gibbs and Fulton.
Bring on Sunday.

Its going to be very very wet on sunday, we always look shaky in the wet, i just hope our handling holds up, if we can have a good completion rate we should win…

On the other hand, if we have an off day, that combined with the rain could see us fall to a bad loss...

:master: :master: :master:

Please let it be the former...

Mostly sunny both days of the weekend, with the drainage at Leichhardt all should be good

Why wouldn't the sharks be confident, their roster looks pretty good. Securing a good rake and halfback will be gold for them. BUT. They have to gel first. Not this time sharks.
In saying all that it will be interesting to see how the tigers go with the comp favorites tag. This is where it starts. The result here will shape our season I believe. No excuses.
