Tim Sheens I miss him

The smartest bloke we ever employed. Of course, we sacked him.

His time was up. He had become stale. Players needed a fresh voice.

I lament sheens wasn't more successful and destroyed the storm and the teams that try replicate them and game would have been more free flowing then this wrestling bs

I lament that I rang Wests Tigers a couple of days ago to ask had an agreement been put into place for Robbie Farah to be an official Ambassador for Us next year.

The answer I got was "nothing has been decided YET".

Does that mean Toddie has to give us back the amounts he deducted from our salary cap for the last two years?

G'day @sheer64: NO!!! We ain't never gonna see those :moneybag: :moneybag: :moneybag: again.

Toddles spent it on Smithy's wife's diamond ring :fa-diamond: :skull_and_crossbones:

I agree.

Tim Sheens developed two distinct styles of Tigers play which were very effective (2004-2005 and 2009-2011), but only had a short window until nullified by other coaches and changes in reffing interpretation. Problem is also that despite the attack being great and Tigers being popular on TV, the defence was always poor - Sheens couldn't get both to work together.

Given multiple-year cycles, I personally would have expected Sheens to come up with a new attacking gameplan down the track (if he wasn't fired) which would also have been unique and successful. However as you note, he was not successful enough in the "in-between" years and eventually we had enough as a club. Bit like the little girl with the curl - when good v good, when bad we were horrid.

Tigers have often been a very good anti-Storm team. In fact, in order, teams with best win record against Storm are Bulldogs, Roosters, Manly, Warriors, Sharks, Tigers, Knights. Considering Dogs, Roosters, Manly and Sharks all had very strong periods in teh last 20 years and very regularly appearing in finals football, Warriors and Tigers are the "best of the worst". No surprise that these teams are a bit more attack- and offload-focused.

Bulldogs are the only side against which Storm have a losing record at 49%. Balmain Tigers also 1W 1 L.

A major news item: Robbie Farah's sports event company has just landed a major deal with an English soccer team, and he will fly to the U.K. this month for more meetings with sporting clubs.

WOW!!! I wonder if this had anything to do with the fact he missed out on playing in a game about a month before the end of the season when he supposedly flew to the U.K. to watch his team play over there, rather than watch it on TV like most normal people have to do.

He, of course, missed out on training, obviously wouldn't have been match fit for the next game so some on here would have thought 'he let the team down'.

Gee, he seems to be the golden-haired boy...one rule for them and a different set of rules for Farah.

I'll say it again..I feel Farah has got something on someone in our club.

But then he may have had psychological problems at that moment, so he just had to get away.

I reckon it's starting to sound like Michelle Moses part 2.

It is also starting to sound like the famous B. Elias, part 2.

@MAGPIES1963 He's retired. So what if he goes overseas on a business venture? We offered him a job (maybe?) but it's not official that he's taken it. Why can't he go overseas like this?

(When he was playing, it's not unusual to let older guys off on not training as much. Letting him go to England to watch a soccer game was a special circumstance, trying to make up for the bad blood when he was pushed out of our club years ago I think)
