Would be nice to enjoy that highlights package without thinking "if only".

We need to face reality, the entertainers tag didn't cut it for most of our history and it won't cut it next year.

I watched no names from Cronulla lift their intensity 200% to make sure they made the 8 tonight, Rugby League is about attitude and the commitment to run and tackle harder and our club needs to block out all the noise and find a way to instill that fire.

Most of the Cronulla team were reserve graders last year. It's all about the mentality of the club. It's ingrained in them to be intense and never give in. They expect to win games that become a down-and-dirty grind.

Almost like a fix

You would take a few of their bench back rowers without question

No JAC then ??

Huh? I thought this forum was for supporters of the Wests Tigers football club, not simply Benji Marshall. He's a great, not just of the team but the game. But no player is bigger than the club and the club has made its decision.

And if he gets another contract, then what if we tell him next season is his last? This nonsense all over again?

This is nothing ....Wally Lewis getting let go by Brisbane makes this look microscopic

I think FM 104 raised either 75 k or 150 k to try and keep him ...this was 1990

He was a lower grade player - not indoctrinated at that stage.

Broncos did what they needed to do to get their youth into a position where they didn't need to rely on an ageing former great.

Sounds familiar!

Just hope we can win back-to-backs in a few years too! 🙂

Except we don't have any youth in that position, we really need to buy a half.

I just watched this highlights package of Benji from 2003-2013. It is absolutely amazing, he was so fast and so elusive.

2020 Benji is not the guy in the highlights video, he is no where near it. After watching him in 2018, 2019 & 2020 I had forgotten that for a while he was the best player in the world.

That last play against the Eels...............i never get tired of it and i'm not sure ive ever seen better from an individual.

I have always been in favour of giving Benji a 1-year deal for 2021, to be a strong halves backup as much as anything related to his career or "legacy", but I can definitely say this forum DOES NOT endorse Benji.

I reckon it's 20/80 in favour of Benji staying on, at best.

We need to buy two halves.

I get that he overcooked that kick. He could have waited until the last tackle, but Souths would have been sweating on and ready for it, so he did what the the opposition didn't expect by kicking early. Doing the unexpected is something he has done throughout his career, leading to many thrilling moments. It's also easy to forget that his clever play led to 3 tries, which brought the Tigers back into the contest.

It was a nothing kick he should have given it to Brooks for a last play option again.....

Should have hit Lawrence on the chest and collected another TA.

I think this is the right option if we can move on Reynolds. The problem is no club is taking Reynolds on.

Yep. He lost me on that play. I think Benji is still the most creative half or player in the comp. The problem is his decision making and defense and poor plays are among the worst if not the worst in the comp.
