And there's a difference between being eccentric and bat shit crazy which it looks as though you've demonstrated for us. Words cannot illustrate how stupid your comment was.

You can't be racist against white people?!….

Are you serious or taking the piss?

If you can't take the piss what can you take?

"Racism exists when prejudice+power combine to form social constructs, legislation and widespread media bias that contribute to the oppression of the rights and liberties of a group of people. Racism is systemic, institutional, and far reaching. It is the prevalence of racism within social structures and institutional norms, along with implicit and explicit enforcement by members of a group, that allows racism to run rampant and unchecked" - Sara Luckey.
When has any of these things ever happened to white people? You can be prejudiced against them, sure. But racism exists on a much larger scale, and people need to recognise that man.

Why should a type of dancing be reserved for one specific race? It was inappropriate at such a public and widely televised event but it wasn't racist. That's like saying Caucasians shouldn't make hip hop music….

_Posted using RoarFEED 2013_

It's racist because in the video she claims and acts as if "twerking" is her thing, that she's invented it etc. and it takes away from the people who get stigmatized for this dance daily. She will never have the same kind of backlash a black woman will for doing the same actions and she uses this for her advantage, which is bad. Additionally, it gives her credit for something that isn't traditionally associated with her or her culture. Furthermore, she uses black women as props and accessories to make herself look more "urban", completely objectifying them.
Smarter people who've actually had to face the repercussions of these kinds of actions have talked about this before me, I suggest you look them up.

_Posted using RoarFEED 2013_

Your comment is racist because it insinuates that she cannot do a particular dance because she is white.Get a grip turkey.Im pretty sure white people have been more "urban" than black african-american people for thousands of years. To all people of a black color on this forum I dont intend in anyway to insult with my comments just "KEEPIN IT REAL".I do realise that a lot of our songs and dance and athletes and friendliness come from the black race and for that I am very thankful.I suggest tomorrow when the sun rises wtigers that you kiss the ground and thank the anzacs for fighting for this country and keeping it free and letting you live here despite YOUR RACIST views.

When were we talking about Zimbabwe? This discussion has never left the context of the western world?

When you claimed that institutionalised racism doesn't happen to whites. It does happen, whether it is in the Western world or not is inconsequential.

Anyway, against better judgement I allowed you to bait me… You're a space cadet and I shan't bother discussing this any further.

Try Redfern.

Wouldn't redfern be evidence of the systematic oppression of black people? Either way, I'm done with this. I've stated my opinions (and backed them up) and I stand by them, though its obvious no one agrees with me.

If we take all of the sh!t out of this discussion it is actually quite an interesting topic. (Imagine that, an intellectual discussion on a WT forum…..well I never!)
Anyway, my first reaction was that this wtigers guy/gal is a nutcase, but after thinking about it there is a valid point. Perhaps we are all just getting tied up with semantics.

But wtigers, even reverse racism (if you want to call it that) is still racism. That is the common understanding of it. By the way, Sara Lucky is not really a good enough source for interpretation of such a delicate and contentious social construct. I get what you are trying to say, but it isn't entirely correct and so quoting such a source as gospel only hurts your argument.

(PS. I feel like we are all having that one minute silence before the game and it's only seconds before someone yells out "FOOTY!!" or "TIGERS!!")

To me it's obvious that Miley Cyrus did this for attention and to get people talking about her. It's like the old saying that there is no such thing as bad publicity.
At the end of the day it makes her money.
