Making a generalisation about an entire generation is an extremely ignorant thing to do. I don't know a single person around my age who respects, enjoys or thinks miley is attractive. She is extremely trashy and an embarrassment to my generation.

To go all out and say kids today have no taste in music is hilariously close-minded. Look around for other music rather than what's on the radio. Radio 'pop' music is voted into the charts by 12-16 year old's who have had images of lil wayne, miley cyrus, chris brown and rihanna shoved in their faces since they can first remember music. Blame other generations for letting popular music get to this stage before writing off anyone younger than 25 who has been born into it.

Well its funny , a lot of my younger staff a few years were getting into that Wii singstar (I think it was called) and many of them started to prefer to listen to music from earlier generations than their own generation

Don't worry we had Madonna as well (couldn't stand her either )

The problem I see with music is ( as a whole ) could used to make statement about many of the problems of the day

It was to a degree in my era , but rarely is today .

My point to get back to your original point is this , why do so many artists (including the talented ones ) of today need to get half naked to sell their wares ??

Let your music sell itself , not how big your cup size is or how bootylicious you are

Rock is dead, the only decent rock bands are old skool bands that have been around 20+ yrs. 20 yrs ago the main attractions at these awards were Guns and Nirvana. 20 yrs later its a bunch of wannabe gangsta's and strippers. No way would they allow anyone with a guitar in the building these days.

You're living in the past… If you actually looked, you'd realise there are plenty of good 'rock' bands around, but I'm fairly sure you're more obsessed with putting down today's industry to care.
The industry hasn't gone the hell just because you don't like the music that's on the charts. Believe it or not, people have different opinions, and it's not up to you to say 'those sounds you like - they're terrible. Look, these sounds, THESE are the sounds you HAVE TO LIKE. Any other sounds are inferior'.
There's plenty of talent in the music industry today, even in the pop industry. Just because you don't necessarily like it, doesn't mean it's bad.
In all honesty, people (not just you, I'm not attempting to single you out) need to get over themselves and stop thinking their opinions superior.

Sex sells. It's been that way for a while now unfortunately.

Pop music, I agree, is terrible today for the most part compared to the 70's, 80's with ac/dc, pink floyd, led zeppelin, uriah heep but to group an entire generation of music as bad is a ridiculous statement. (referring to GNR, not you Happy)

The modern era there are good bands if you did hard enough. Many are established yes. There are also many fine musicians and songwriters coming out of the new folk/roots music genres.

For mine music is far less communal these days, the internet has been a wonderful tool for ease of access but has spoiled some of the fun of searching for it through CD stores, talking to other people etc.

I am becoming a bit of a fogey yeah but in my defence I have been using the phrase "kids these days" since I was 16
