Cini is doing well in state cup. Must be close to a call up. He is an interesting player, not particularly fast but seems allusive and strong. Can’t see him offering any less than Talau or Kepao are at the moment.

I commented at the game he has great leg drive and is hard to put down a big fella .

In a two horse race you'd have your money on Cini over Talau. Has a higher ceiling - better hands and speed.

As much as I think AJ/TT are struggling. Don’t know how much better BJ would be...yeah he has dominated in cup but how much better can an old lazy pea heart be. The guy didn’t even seem to care about being demoted. Would maybe look at Hoffman by years end or Kei if he can stay injury free. Cooper, Cini, Fitzgibbon other options but think they would struggle with the leap.

You mustn’t have seen Fitzgibbon play in reggies today ... he’s a year off at best and will most probably lose his spot when Gebbe can play.
Cooper went all right with BJ setting up 2 tries for him.
Cini looks the goods though.

Hence why I thought he would struggle with the leap, in hindsight maybe I worded it poorly but yeah by no means do I think he should be near the top 17 or even 21 for that matter.

Re-watch Fergo's first try and Tommy's cover D. Extremely poor.

Talau and flipper need to play Reggie’s for a month

Young, inexperienced and in a rubbish team.

He's a good talent, who will become good with the right people around him.

Based on what?

What’s that got to do with cini not being able to tackle?

Lay off the kid.. he has heaps to learn... ***will be a beast at centre***.. needs a quality winger outside him.

Why? WHat makes you think that? What have you seen?

I had high hopes for the kid ..

Knock on cup for a month .

The ONLY redeeming feature I can see in him is he has a big frame. I can understand why people have been excited about him coming up, but its an illusion. No speed, no skill, no defence, no footwork. Its incredible that only a few weeks ago all the Talua fans were actually talking this guy up as a 5/8 but he cant pass to his winger on an overlap.

Talau is a good young player who’s 16 games into his career learning a new position. Give the kid time he has more talent than 90% of our squad. He’s not there yet and in my view has to go back to the wing outside an experienced centre. BJ played well enough today and if he can pull his head in it’s our best combination.

***Talau is 2 years away but will be a borderline origin player.***

That is a massive call about someone who is a borderline first grade player.

Agreed
I’m disappointed with what I’ve seen so far ..
His wingman is useless as well ?

Nowhere near first grade. We have no chance of succeeding with this left edge.

Even when you compare to the “average” centre’s we used to have, like Ayshford, Collis, Elford etc. - those guys ran rings around Tommy.
He needs a long term stint in reserves - and that is just to determine IF he has potential.

Management has what to answer for I’m afraid because we are supposed to have the best nurseries but we have THE WORST depth! I mean people like Talau and Kepoa are the first choice. Chrissakes.

Out of the youngsters he is probably the one I have been most disappointed with. He doesn’t want to play wing but can’t be a centre if he doesn’t know how to pass to his winger. I’d say he has to have a stint and as risky as it is being BJ back.
