Three into Two doesn't go

Ballin is contracted with Manly for 16' and `17' the two seasons we have allegedly got him for, this means manly will obviously be paying the majority of his contract for us.

good point, not too bad if thats the case.

assuming farah is leaving. frees up a tonne of space, i'd rather ballin on say 200k on the cap (manly pays an extra couple hundred grand) and cherrington on 100k than Farah on 1 million a year.

could buy a VERY impressive 2nd rower for 650-700k, better than Taupau imo. Very destructive and love his playing style but a more well rounded and 60minute player (esp. with the game speeding up in 2016) could go well

Not fussed on Taupau leaving, as much as i would love Farah to stay i just want all this crap to be over. Whether he leaves or stays i don't care anymore. Ballin/Cherrington would do the exact job as Farah/Cherrington.

Farah has a contract and if he leaves the club will pay the 2.1 million or so owing to him. I can't see how the club would be in a position to buy any player since Farah's salary is included in the cap.

If an NRL club buys Farah then they need to pay him a reasonable amount to count on their salary cay. That amount will come off our cap.

No club has this amount of money to spend for 2016\. So we will be paying the 2.1 million which will be deducted from the cap if he chooses to leave. This is another example of the genius of Taylor. Now when does Cleary arrive?

Farah leaving won't free up Cap space… His allocation will still be included in our cap if he is paid out.

But, this signing makes it clear Farah won't be at the Tigers next year. The club is simply playing the game before moving him on.

Yeah your spot on Watto

There is no doubt that the stage is set for Farah's departure , if by any chance his still here by Round 1 next year with Ballin here ? Well his got the thickest skin .

I posted in the Ballin thread that taylor was on triple m yesterday and denied the Ballin rumors (but he's tone in voice changed like he was nervous or something)

Now for a joke if Ballin is here.. How many hookers does it take to screw Taylor?

Someone else can create a punchline

of course it frees up cap space, why else would they do it?

it basically works like this. If farah is on 1 million for 2016/17\. he MUST be paid 1 million a year. it doesn't matter from whom. If he is forced to leave and sign with say the dragons for 600k. We have to top up the last 400k, and that comes out of our salary cap.

Similarly, Ballin is owed 400k say, if we get him for 250k then manly have to top up 150k out of their cap.

Taupau asked for a release so we don't have to pay him anything.

Just because you keep saying it - won't make it happen.

CLEARY is not coming - don't want him and we don't need him!

why sign a has been to force robbie out?

i would be insulted if i was robbie farah ,regardless of a track history of not getting on with coaches.

a premiership winning hooker,an incumbent state of origin player- and we have so many of them- not.

the status quo should have been maintained and farah's future would have sorted itself out.

signing ballin is a dare to see what robbie does next.

the club look like idiots.

taylors man management is appalling.what a fiasco!

Do you think Balin would sign a deal for two years to be third in line ?..I doubt it.My biggest gripe is we held all the aces,we had a player that another club wanted and we released a contracted player without really getting anything out of it,just like Austen and to a lesser extent Koro.
Our only hope now is we may have some cap space to grab a souths reject when they resign Big Sam, but I really can not see us in the market place for any quality players,it's not our go

I think Cherrington is his limited game time has shown he does every thing at speed and in my opinion the side looks very good attack wise when he is on the field.

Ballin for mine would be a long distance third behind Robbie and Cherrington and would be an absolute stupid signing considering he is over 30 and injured yet nothing our club does suprises me anymore.

You might not want him and that is your opinion you are entitled to, but we need him or Toovey or someone of that ilk.

hahahhahahaha thats put very very well.

i think it went something like this… dude tried to screw the hooker..... the pimp stepped in........

:bawling

Back in the late 90's and early 00's both Balmain & then the Wests Tigers had a thing for signing ex Manly players, did they ever get a good one?, Shannon Nevin, Craig Field, Craig Hancock, John Hopoate, Terry Hill etc etc, can someone name any ex Sea Eagle at the Tigers who represented value for money?.

We are being deliberately destabilised to kill a club in Sydney. Wake up and smell the roses. We let go Galloway, Taupau, Farah and others go and sign hacks ho replace them. John Quayle was appointed to save the Knights we got Go. That should tell you all you need to know.

I reckon that it's a depth signing to cover for possible injuries.

He fits that spot already he has an acl injury and at his age he is only a maybe player cant believe we have wasted money on him.he is worse that what we already have and not as good as what we have coming.Total waste of money :rant

Balin is probably a freebe. Thrown in as a thank you for releasing Kapow early.

Even free, Ballin isn't worth it!!!

Farah has been told he is no longer required by the club, unfortunately until the penny finally drops he is going to be around. There is only 2 not 3 Farahs footprint at the club has been removed I really do not see the reasoning behind the stubborn stance to stay somewhere your not wanted considering he has been told he will get his money. This is going to be a messy situation with Ayoub feeding the media .

So snake, if Cherrington goes down with a long time injury, do you really think that Ballin will be our hooker for 2016( or even our back up hooker.
Pigs might fly too.
Manly wouldn't have put him on their dump list if they thought he'd be ok for this year.
Pascoe has come out and said that players will be picked on form. If so, Farah and Cherrington will be the first grade hookers, as both are better than Ballin.
