He won't get suspended for that.

All you QLDers are the same… my mate reckons it shouldn't have even been a penalty

You cannot lead with the footy. He did it. Not only that, he made contact with the face/head.

He should miss a few weeks at least IMO.

A few weeks?? You have to be kidding…

Wait.. Cowboys play the Tigers this week right? Spose that has nothing to do with it... 😕

Shouldn't have even been put on report imo.

It's been a suspendable offence all year. Even though yes we benefit from it, leading with the foot like that is dangerous and suspensions are the only way to stop people doing it.

Thurston takes early guilty plea

QUEENSLAND halfback Johnathan Thurston has accepted an early guilty plea to a dangerous conduct charge from Wednesday night's State of Origin loss to NSW.
>
Thurston copped a grade one charge for lashing out with his boot attempting to prevent David Williams scoring a first-half try in the Blues' 28-16 win at Suncorp Stadium.
>
He took the early guilty plea, which tallied 75 demerit points, allowing him to be available for the Cowboys' NRL clash with Wests Tigers this weekend.
>
NSW second-rower Trent Waterhouse has until noon on Thursday to decide whether to fight a grade one contrary conduct charge for running in and joining a punch-up between Steve Price and Brett White.
>
The match review committee didn't believe Waterhouse knocked out Price but felt his actions escalated the incident.
>
Waterhouse's charge carries 160 demerit points which would be reduced to 122 with an early guilty plea.

Some players are just untouchable... I wonder how Nathan Merritt feels...

After QLD took the penalty from the Price incident and Smith put up the bomb for Gidley, Thurston was one of the tacklers in to smash him and I tell you what, his swinging arm wasnt all too innocent. Had it been in any other minute of the game IMO it wouldve been a penalty if not on report.

A kick to the head is much more dangerous and pre-meditated than most swinging arms. He broke William's bloody check bone. Surely that should be at least a grade 3 offence.

The players have been put on notice a long time ago that you can not use the boot.

Oh well, it will just make our victory on Sunday even sweeter.

Not suspended.

As he shouldn't be.

Once again common sense is proven to be right

It was fun duelling with you all though.

*collects my prize*

Given Thurston admitted that his foot came into contact with Williams head, I'm surprised he didn't get at least 1 week for that.

didn't think he'd get suspended, it's Origin after all. We want to beat the Cowboys WITH Thurston anyway, bring on Sunday.

the 8pt try will probably be deemed as penalty enough….

Considering Butterfingers dropped the ball and it wasn't a try in the first place 8 points was a harsh penalty.

Yeah there has been others who have been suspended for lesser things this season… so in my opinion Thursten should get 3 weeks

Very true.

Would have been 3-0 if the video ref was even partially competent.

Thats absolutely disgusting that the slim will be allowed to play against us… we should just get Ellis or Payne or anyone to line him up & end his game... dirty bastard

Rubbish. QLD were very tlucky to be awarded the Johnson and Slater tries. Both balls bounced IMO.

On Thurston, that is a disgrace! Absolute joke. I hope Galloway plays and smashes him into next year.

😕 Its my opinion that the 8pt try decision completely changed the outcome of the match.

If your against people having opinions, move to North Korea.

Thurston played like a true grub all night. He was putting elbows and face massages in every tackle.

I for one am glad he is playing against us so I can sit there and hope a Tiger kills him.

Fire up Tigers!

Thurston not being suspended, will give the game on sunday that extra bit of venom. :stuck_out_tongue:
can't wait to listen to the nice reception he will get during the warm up and the game.

Should have been suspended… but i don't mind, atleast when we smash the Cows they won't have the JT excuse! And i love seeing the bloke whinge against the Tigers... it's hilarious when the crowd starts giving it to him!

CANNOT WAIT FOR SUNDAY!!! GO THE TIGERS!!!
