Tigers and Storm Player Loan Swap

for me a no brainer as long as momo is with us next year. i like walters but hew has a ways to go to be a good hooker and Reynolds can be good for short periods of time but as others havbe mentioned neither will be an 80 min hooker.

We still sleeping on momirovski?

Can find the line. And looks to be one of the only players in our side with any sort of pace (from last years squad anyway).

Dudes beating 4-5 guys to find the line in a majority of those tries. Scores a double in his debut in the finals for the roosters. Missed the sitter of a kick against the dogs but didn't kick stones and lose all confidence like Marsters, which I thought showed just how mentally tough and mature the bloke is. Kids a weapon.

The dude is beating 2-3 guys AT the line to score but in ever try someone has put him in space or beaten his opposite with a pass. Mono doesn’t beat one player in general play in that whole highlight reel. It’s a decent reel for a winger. That’s what he looks like there.

For mine a good first grade centre beats his Man in general play with pace or power. I’ve never seen him do that. He is worth a centre spot in first grade but he is our Shane Elford. Struck match between him and Mbye at centre for mine.

"Doesn't beat one player" - you need to go to spec savers.

Help me out mate, give me a time code on that video where he beats a player in general play (not at the line).

The love for Momo is so confusing. Lacks genuine pace to ever be more then a good finisher. Would you pass him the ball if you needed someone to break the line or win you a game?? I think the answer to that question is why we are happy to swap him to the storm.

We’re not swapping him cos we don’t want him. We need a hooker and have sufficiant depth in the centres. The club will extend him for 2021.

Exactly, nothing more then a depth player. Glad we agree.

Well, no. You implied the club doesn’t want him, which is wrong.

I said we are happy to swap him, and you agreed we have enough depth in our centres that we can do without him. So are you implying what I’m implying?

But he’s not a depth player. He finished the season last year as the top try scorer. And if the club saw him as a depth player, they wouldn’t be looking to extend him

So why are they swapping him if he is our number 1 centre?

But to answer you question, we just signed BJ, and Mbye is our captain. Maybe Madge thinks a year in the Storm system could take Momo to the next level. There are positive reasons why the club would want to send him there, hence why they want to re-sign him. If he was of no value, they’d release of his current contract.

I don't agree.

The numbers show we would have made the eight if we kicked better.

Idk what that’s got to with what I said

How did the Storm suddenly get this under the salary cap, if it's going to move forward? Everything was already in place last time, except Storm's account-keeping.

They didn’t account for having to have 29 players on the roster. Now the date has passed we also would’ve paying Momirovski more so it makes it work as difference was minor.

Ok - if you look at the video replay earlier (it was said he doesn't beat one player) - on several of the tries shown he beat 3-4 players to get the ball down.

He is not JAC in the speed department BUT... did I see on the video that he took an intercept about 10-15 metres from our try line and run 80-90 metres to score without anyone catching him. He ain't no tortoise either, has a great football brain and kicks goals (except the ones he misses).

To answer your question: Yes! I would pass him the ball if I needed to win the game, and as the games go by - I would be even more anxious to pass him the ball, because he will be getting even better.

We are happy to swap him with the Storm (for one season only - mind you) (they are looking to extend his contract by two years before the swap, if it happens) because they are desperate for a hooker and they want Momo to be coached by Bellamy so he will come back with a lot more experience playing under the Melbourne system.

Personally think Storm getting Momo and us getting Grant is a loss for us.

Imagine some of the tips and tricks Harry grant could teach Simpkin it can only benefit the club

Oh right, you can't score tries unless you beat someone in open play. Beating 3 or 4 players on the line to get the ball down doesn't count.

I don't care if he never beats a player in open play - I'll just take all the tries he scores.

Guess Latrell Mitchell scores a lot of tries that don't count either.

Hasn't young Grant got a get out clause in his current Storm deal if Smith plays on beyond 2020. Not sure how that would be accommodated in any swap deal with us.

I can’t see how anyone can see this swap as a bad move. We get a very classy no9 in a position we are very weak and arguably the most important position on the field. In return we are sending a potentially good centre to play in a very strong system for a year that play a similar structure to us and we probably have 4 players still on our books who can play centre.

I see the only risk is for Momo, and that is a young guy like Talau kills it this year and there is no gap in the top grade come 2021, but he obviously is backing himself to come back a better player. Of course you never know, if the both are successful and happy the deal could be extended

Harry Grant whilst a rookie will be in the top half of hookers in the game from day one. We are deficient Walters, Reynolds, Mbye would be the worst hooking combination in the NRL.

Our centre stocks even without Momirovski are better. Leilua, Talau, Douihei and perhaps Jennings can cover the role. One thing being missed is Momirosvski will play and train with the Storm and will come back a better player.

By mid season Grant and Liddle as the hiking options looks a lot stronger than Walters, Reynolds, Mbye. I do like the look of Walters he is decisive at homer and plays strong.

NRL have no vision a reactive organisation.

Because some people are genuinely happy to finish 9th. Momirovski is considered one the good guys of the game so fans dont want to get rid of him. Having likeable players is more important than winning.

The exception being those who highlighted how it impacts our goal kicking. Those guys get a pass mark.

Here we go again with the obsession of converting a centre into a back rower. Don’t worry about the Coronavirus, WT’s supporters constantly calling for centres to move into the pack is the real pandemic.
