He will begin running again soon but the club medicos have warned him not to get too optimistic about a return date.

Maybe the reason for the renewed interest in Grant

with this Melbourne could try & remove said clause from Grant’s contract in order for them to approve his release for this year.

Why would Grant ever agree to do this? He's already making a lot of public noise about wanting to get an opportunity now, and I wouldn't trust Cameron Smith to do anything when he says he would do it - he is a law unto himself (and to many a degree he's earned that right).

Not sure about Simpkins - but I would bet that should Liddle or Grant be the chosen one - the other would leave. Especially with Liddle's contract being up at the end of this year.

Yeah I don't believe a word of that. The bloke has trained all off-season, done a deal specifically to get opportunities at Tigers, performed well in the trials, and he's very likely to be starting hooker Round 1. And Harry Grant would probably wipe that all away.

Walters is probably eyeing of the 6 jumper, they played together at Melbournes feeder club, and I for one would like to see Walters given a shot at five eighth, that is his natural position, and we need a five eighth.

Wouldn’t be part of his swap deal at all, it’s part of his storm contract in 2021.

Grant comes over & starts as 9 see's the likes of Walters taking a bench/utility role. Something Chee Kam has covered last year, Madge likes having big bodies on the bench, unless Chee Kam could jag a starting spot I see him missing out if Grant makes the move.

Way off, IMO, Reynolds + Liddle suffer massively. Rather MCK off the bench (easily one of our best there) and only one of the three that fills in at centre so that mainly leaves Mbye as cover

2 props, one back rower (nether garner or LL can play 80) and one utility (no hooker can play 80). Once we have players who can play the full 80 you could add an extra big guy but our forwards are really quite durable as is. Twal can play 50-60. Aloiai 40. Mikaele 40. Musgrove 40-50. We don't need to restrict them to 20 min spurts of pure power and impact.

Garner can play 80. Did it a few times last year to good effect.
