This Grant kid is very good, plays direct and knows how to pick apart a pack. He makes the quick clear decsions a good modern hooker needs to and can help dictate the speed of the game. Looks a solid defender and fit enough for 80mins.
Where as Reynolds, Walters and Mbye look like chooks with their heads cut off and will all need to be interchanged.
Allowing another forward on the bench makes us a better team straight up.
Hope we get him.

No, fair point and he might need a few rounds to get to 80, but he's played 80 mins regularly in QC for a couple of years and I think he's up to NRL standard and fitness

Got everything . Imo, make or break signing for us to gather enough momentum for a charge.

Momi wouldn’t be missed and I think the real beauty of how Madge + Pascoe and Hartigan are trying to re-negotiate the situation is in that we might also have 3 very good young Rake’s in the ranks, then with Madden poised to fill in at 6 and JR seemingly cooled his heels.

That is serious, serious depth!

Definitely the missing piece in the puzzle

Can find the line. And looks to be one of the only players in our side with any sort of pace (from last years squad anyway).

Dudes beating 4-5 guys to find the line in a majority of those tries. Scores a double in his debut in the finals for the roosters. Missed the sitter of a kick against the dogs but didn't kick stones and lose all confidence like Marsters, which I thought showed just how mentally tough and mature the bloke is. Kids a weapon.

The dude is beating 2-3 guys AT the line to score but in ever try someone has put him in space or beaten his opposite with a pass. Mono doesn’t beat one player in general play in that whole highlight reel. It’s a decent reel for a winger. That’s what he looks like there.


For mine a good first grade centre beats his Man in general play with pace or power. I’ve never seen him do that. He is worth a centre spot in first grade but he is our Shane Elford. Struck match between him and Mbye at centre for mine.

No Momirovski is only signed to the end of this year...unless I've missed something..

With MBye injured, who would we have partnering BJ as our starting centres if Momo goes to Storm? Talau? Couldn't have M Johns, with Grant taking up spot 30 there's no room. (Although there could be if Momos spot in the 30 was swapped for Grant, is that how it works?)

I don’t know about a raw deal but I’m very concerned about the goal kicking without Momi. Goal kicking cost us a finals spot last year and we finally found a reasonably reliable kicker at the back and of the year only to let him go.

I watched the Storm v Cowboys game and Harry was brilliant.

Silky passing game that constantly challenged the line. His support play for their third try was excellent and that incredible stabbing grubber for their fourth try was on-point.

I'm a big fan of Harry, but that's where it ends.

Our chances of winning the comp in 2020 are slim, so if we get Grant all we're doing is providing him with a first grade nursery to improve his skills. He'll go back to the Storm in 2021 with that experience under his belt and it will probably bite us in the arse in the future.

Momo on the other hand is a high IQ, high ceiling centre that knows how to find the line. He's also a decent kicker, currently @75% but I'm sure with full time kicking duties in 2020 he'll improve.

I love the idea of Harry coming to us, but only if (and somehow) he breaks his contract and signs with us.

Not a fan of the swap.

We don't have a solid goal kicker.

I like what Walters has shown @9 so far, and I think we'll make the eight as he settles into first grade.

Kicking will be the difference.

The love for Momo is so confusing. Lacks genuine pace to ever be more then a good finisher. Would you pass him the ball if you needed someone to break the line or win you a game?? I think the answer to that question is why we are happy to swap him to the storm.
