Tigers board to undertake post-season review

My thoughts only .

Madge stays … he’s done okay with those who he has bought to the club . The players who were there before Madge appears to be the ones not stepping up / engaged

Pascoe moved on . … been at the helm for a long time and overseen some disasters.
If we are going to work on our identity, bring in a club legend who performs well in similar role with another club (ie has runs on the board ) I am thinking Mark O’Neil (yes he was let go for certain matters . Time may heal )

Hartigan - hmmm . Not sure on that one

they're reviewing the football department. the club off field and pathways-wise is in a good place. I'm happy with Pascoe, he's not the issue. if Hartigan's conducting the review I very much doubt his spot is in jeopardy either. Madge himself and the support staff are going to be looked at heavily. the players need to be reviewed as well. given yesterday's performance there is something very very wrong. let's hope this review gets it right.

Lets be real, i don't think any change will occur from this review. This is just posturing from the big wigs to us fans and the media to make it look like the club is "trying".

Agreed.

Nothing this club does is professional and I can't see them starting here.

Prediction time; By Feb 2022, members will get a email from Pascoe telling us the results are in and it's all sweet. By May 2022 the club will have a interim coach after Madge is punted. New coach to be appointed by Nov 2022 and the club demands supporters to give him time to get his own roster. back to back spoons for 2022 / 2023. Rinse, Wash, Repeat.

Pascoe will still have a job, Brooks will still be waiting to unleash, Lee will still be making ridiculous comments to the media and Nuffa will still have a whole season left on his braindead contract.

Parramatta will gladly deliver Mark O'Neil to us in a limo....they can't stand him

Hard to think a staunch review of the failed 2021 season is going to make a licking difference when those conducting the review need reviewing themselves. The club needs an independent review by Craig Bellamy and those that run the Storm franchise.

At the moment its like having the Nuremberg Trials ran by the Nazis

Watching this club handle problems is more like watching an episode of Scooby Doo. How Mystery Inc would always investigate these "supernatural" cases and when the moment finally came to unmask the villain, they were always human. Every single bloody time.
The same stupid outcome with everyone still  clueless to this and lacking foresight.

It's 10 years of failed strategy execution and it's any wonder when we keep using the same broken down model/method.

We would be mad not to dump Madge now. Things are going to get worse before they get better - can anyone seriously see our squad making the 8 after the way this year went? We've signed 2 players - Gildart and Hastings. We've also lost Doueihi and Talau for most of the year. So really we haven't added anyone if you look at it that way.

Keeping Madge for 2022 means we might as well commit to him for 2023 too because every excuse he can use this year will just apply next year too. The on-field product wasn't good enough. I don't care if he's passionate or he needs to shape the roster as he wants, if we're conceding 30+ points a game he's doing something wrong. If defence comes down to coaching, then he's failed. If defence is an effort/attitude thing, then he can't inspire the players. Our team isn't much worse talent wise than when Cleary was here, yet under him we were winning games against the Storm and Roosters 10-8 and 14-12 etc.

Install a proper plan going forward. Hire Bennett/Sheens to sort things out and hire one of the top assistants with an assured pathway to the head coach role after 2 years. Say Sheens as head coach and Morris as his assistant with a view to become full-time coach in 2024. You keep things in house, you maintain the same systems and strategic direction and you build a contender with a long-term view.

Lee did confirm that “this review is no different from what they did last year and the year before” and therefore Is it possible to expect a similar outcome?

And since then, (even with the so-called findings at that time), the board renewed Madge's coaching contract with us.

Madge would have delivered a premiership if it wasn't for those meddling kids!!

They should do the review today its mad monday 😂

I suggest the club leaves it to the forum members this time round to conduct any reviews .. and that way we know it will be thorough ..
How fun would that be ..

Elias calling for the club to be upfront and honest with Madge. I agree but a bit ironical given his past with Balmain.

This is a whole other issue and is a great example of why this club has no identity. What relevance does a Balmain legend from 30 years ago have in regards to whats happening now?

Who better to run the review than Oberst-Gruppenfuhrer Pascoe?

If it were possible, it would be great to ask Harry Grant for his imput during the review process.
It would certainly tell where were at.
He became an origin player with us and received nearly weekly standing ovations from us in the crowd but yet he quickly went back to Melbourne to fulfill his Contract. In the past a player often fell in love with the place with that adulation and personal success.
But not he, wonder how he would compare the club's and did he think there was much future with us

He certainly ran.

Seems to have blocked out his time here.

I see it slightly different in that he had the integrity to follow through on what he agreed to do. In saying that, it’s not like he was going from the Penthouse to the outhouse, quite the opposite actually.

I saw Harry Grant on Matt Johns show early in the year talk about his time at the WTs. Said Maguire helped him with his individual game and the player he learned most from was Moses Mybe.

Goes to show how dumb the players are that have been with us for a lot longer than Harry Grant, as they appear to have learned nuffin from anyone.
