Tigers Clean Out

No issues with the players who have been asked to to leave. They should include Skandalis in there somewhere as well.

I thought Payten was on the outer ? So now he is being considered, but I guess that is as much as they can afford - sad.

Everyone is saying Moses is and should be our number 6 next year that he has had a good learning curve in the under 20 and the few games he has played in the top grade this year stop let me remind you of 1 C Sironon he was a gun in u20 and is completely out of his depth in first grade as is Moses keep Austin play Moses of the bench every now and then until he can handle the pace of the game because wat I have seen so far he wouldn't blow wind up austins arse…...

Don't forget we're also losing Fulton & Braith.
Also lost Koro and Ava.
Corey Patterson as well…

We should have a bit of coin to spend....

Does any one else think Austin is too good for the raiders?
I sure do.

Career suicide.

If these players all go including Austin and Potter goes, will we be financially better off than before ie can we afford the players we need in the centres for example, will we be able to pay a new coach more than we paid Potter I was of the understanding our finances were nearly non existent, hence the B grade type of recruiting we have had..I do understand that some highly paid players from previous contracts will still be here…can anybody shed some light on this for me please, because if we don't have enough money how can we afford better players for next year as well as upgrade our facilities..Just looking for genuine thoughts .......

I too would be keen to know,as I said earlier we should try a player swap for Austin, start at say Wighton,Croker or even Brenko Lee can't hurt to test the water at camp Stuart.

My biggest fears have been realised, we are going to lose Austin with who I said "Raiders ". It would be unfair to keep Austin when Canberra are offering what he wants.
I would have Austin Over Moses if I had to choose, but Moses will be our number 6, we have invested to much into Moses and has a long contract.
Devastated to lose Austin but that is what is going to happen.

Be positive.
We have $$ if we are to release the other mentioned players
& with the retirements, etc.

We can keep him paid and on the field,
Just not in the #6
So….. the last appealing thing would be...
WT are more likely to win a GF than CBR.

Ball is in his court though.

Foreveratiger, all I can say is if the rest of what we call a team took a leaf out of Austins book on how to have ago and try and win a game ,we would of been a little less disappointed with this season…I truly think he has been a shining light this year,he has to make a decision for himself though..

@Demps and 851, If we swap players and they are still on a contract with us for say 1year do we have to pay them out,or make up the difference in someway.just asking because I don't know how it works properly….

geeze am i the only one who thinks austin has become a bit overrated last couple of weeks on here?

he's had some good performances but as a half, he lacks a good kicking game, passing game and even defense at times. dont get me wrong, he's been good individually, but that's not what a good half does. he makes others look good around him.

i'll give him that he's been very enthusiastic and tried his heart out every time he's played for us and in whatever jumper he's been given.

he was a tad disappointing in whatever games he's played at centre but i still believe he has the attack to play centre- defense hopefully can come later to him.

he's a good footballer just not a great halfback or 5/8 imo.

We should offer Austin a full-time centre spot and see if hes happy with that. Would really hate to see him move on after he has been our best and most consistent player this year.

If part of the deal to release Austen was that another club took say Lawrence,Moltzen and Galloway, you would say not a bad deal. This would be like the deal we did with the Sharks with Gibbs and Fifita. On the other hand to release arguably your best player for only a few second tier plodders would be madness.

I only hope if we are clearing the decks, that they have some quality cattle ready to come to Concord, although as they said in the castle==="your dreaming"

We can keep Austin if we need him. He can't just walk out on a contract. Milford is a great example of someone who didn't want to be at a club, but still gave his all. I think Austin would too.

The question for me is, if the club does an honorable thing and give him an opportunity in 6, who is our halves depth? Austin, Anasta and Moltz were it.

I would hate for us to have to resort to Robbie again in the 7.

It really is a joke of a clean out. None are first graders. just depth players. Be alright if Lawrence or Galloway were on the chopping block. Isn't there a rumor of Sauce to the Panthers? I'd be for it. Try and free up as much cash to have a massive crack at the playing market for 2016.

At the end of the day, the decision Austin will make is? if he sees himself as a number 6 and Canberra offer him that and we can't offer him that cause of Moses. Then I'm afraid he is as good as gone

The problem I have is that we're still honouring their contracts if they can't find another club. It's only a clean out if they can find another deal. I get that we can't afford to just cut them loose, but in reality we might not see any change until end of next season.
Austin will be here next year, and it'd be hard to begrudge him leaving for a full time start in 6 which we can't guarantee, but depending on Moses' development he may have the 6 all year or he may not be missed at all, a year is a long time in football.
It's also good to see Luani and Rowe moving on, seems they're putting faith in the youngsters coming through which is good to see. A bit harsh on Buchanan though I think, from all reports he's been one of our best in NSW cup.

Just on the Austin centre debate, what many are missing I think is his desire to play 6\. He came here to make a name for himself as a first grade quality five eighth, not to be a utility or get shuffled to centre. It's obviously a goal of his, so all power to him for chasing it. After his performances this year he owes the club nothing, though I would hate to see him go.

Blake Austin is so far ahead of Moses it's not funny. Moses hasn't shown anything yet to warrant being the starting 6 next year. Yes he was going well I n NYC and NSW cup but he was no means putting pressure on first grade.

Austin has shown time and time again he is an NRL standard 6

Moses will be a great 5/8 & all things being equal will be starting next to Brooksy next year. Austin has done well but Moses is a special talent IMO. I would like him to stay but Nobody can be guaranteed a starting position so if Austin isn't happy he can go.
