Tigers could face ground controversy

Firstly ….I hate it Wests Tigers get ahead of themselves....focus on Souths...NOT HAPPY.. :brick:

As for home semi

Dragons played Parra at OKI Chokie last year didn't they?

IT must be at Leichhardt!!!!

I'd say this is the press not the Tigers getting ahead of themselves.

Would love it at LO, only if i could get tickets mind..

We could do with the revenue so i say SFS but i would never go there being from C town.
As mentioned above , it depends on who are playing.. Why take it to SFS if we play the chooks or Souths, that will be silly.
Being selfish i vote for CT or LO but for the clubs benefit i say SFS .

If it did happen–we need all the advantage we can get, but really its all about the dollars and the SFS generates a lot more dollars so that will be the way they will go no question about it

Playing his game at Leichhardt would be beautiful. The Roar of 15'000 Tiger Fans looking for Blood would be amazing…

Unfortunately, this isn't suitable and playing at a packed SFS is the only option... The Tigers have a responsibility to the NRL and ALL it's fans, and will easily attract 40k people to this game if it is playing a Sydney based Team.

Maybe if we end up playing Brisbane, Titans or the Warriors...

Solution is quite simple..

Play one half at Leichhardt and play the second half at Campbelltown.
Luckily this forum has someone like me to lead the way with common sense with a true equal divide..

:nerd:

yeah probably jumping the gun a little, but if the players would prefer playing there, it's probably something to consider. Would supporters take any advantage to possibly help the team win over not being able to see the game at the ground?

Its an absolute no brainer! Leichhardt Oval should be the ground. I dont care if i get locked out or dont get tix. Every advantage should be taken if it helps the tigers win a semi final match.

Would fans pay extra to see the semi away from the SFS? I know I would!!

Hmmm…..let's think about this.

What price would the club have to charge that compensates the revenue lost by not playing in front of 35,000 at the SFS (won't assume a sellout)? Taking into account the SFS has probably triple the amount of corporate facilities, you are looking at price rises of 100-150%.

No one with families will attend and it will be just a bunch of 30+ year old DINKS drinking lattes in dead silence. Wests would be the laughing stock of the game as it denies its working class heritage of Wests and Balmain and takes up the mantle of being elitist.

All for the sake of playing at a ground that does not meet standards and is close to one of the worse grounds in the NRL (everyone should thank Manly it still plays at Brookvale).

Can someone answer this…

Isn't the Finals Series run by the NRL and the Club doesn't actually get the Gate Revenue?

The Club get choice of venue, and catering $'s, but I'm certain the Gate goes to the NRL and the Price is set by them...

Reminds me of the NRL promo from a year or two back with the players running down the road. Let them play it on the motorway!

I agree that the players need to focus on each week ahead. However, management need to look further ahead so there is time to plan eventualities. I will admit that I had assumed it was contracted to play at the SFS if we made the top four.

Still 5 games to be played before the finals and with the top 8 still tight, the Tigers could quite easily drop out of the top 4 so I'd rather cross my fingers and hope the Tigers win at least 3 of their 5 remaining games and take it from there. SFS would likely be the venue IMO.

I would too Tigergran. Especially if it meant giving the team an edge.

If what you say is true Gary about the price of tickets, you would see a terrible atmosphere at the State Of Origin too…

Quite a substantial difference in the quality of product. Premium products deserve a premium price.

I think youre right, tho not 100%…on the NRL and gate takings.

We havent had a sell out all year, stuff the bandwaggoners i say, listen to the players!!!

WINNING is and should be the first foremost most important thing, getting every advantage a top 4 finish gives.

We all know though $$$$$ and the corporates will come first...just hope were not playing the Roosters at our home semi at moore pk.

i would think the rorters are more likely of a top 4 finish than us on present form - we may get to play them in a semi at the sfs - but more likely because they finish in the top 4 and we finish in the bottom 4 of the 8.

yes its the nrl who pay for the finals games .. why do you think they want it at sfs .. theyll make a motza ….play it at the old girl where we can hammer home a homeground advantage......22,000 with a full house sign ,,,,,rugby leagues the winner

I'd love to see it at LO, but I suppose you've got to take in to account OH&S here. I mean remember last time we had a packed out ground (2005 vs Souths) there were blokes on the roof! the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust will probably pay us loads to play at the SFS as well.
