I would love to have been a fly on the wall in the review today. I trust a few owned their poor efforts and were able identify the key lessons. Unfortunatley identifying the lessons is usually the easy part - learning them takes more discipline.

Next week we will learn more about our team and our coach.

Just remember the old saying that a teams worst and best performances can often be a week apart( either way). I hope that’s right but not feeling it just yet, I’ll wait to see the team tomorrow !

I didn't think they were rolling through us, but it was definitely an arm wrestle. Cronulla have a decent pack. I agree it was an underwhelming performance from the outset but still thought we were very much in it until we dropped every ball that came our way in the second half. Your halves can't kick you out of trouble when your wingers and middles are dropping the ball on the second or third tackle 30m out.
They were getting on the front foot in attack from the beginning of the game, the physical defense that was putting opposing teams on their backsides or on the injury list was missing from the start of that game. I'm not being critical of the middles as they still did a great job getting us back downfield in the first half, i just think we were below our best in defense for the whole game and it just snowballed in the second half. That's why Benji called it out, not that they were bad in the first half, just that they were not at the level they have been previously. And yes, they should kicked early, i.e on the second and third tackle to turn the sharks around and get us up field. I would even take a kick that goes dead so we can at least set our line.
