Tigers dump Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington to the sharks

in this mornings telecrap,it described cronulla's lack of speed and penetration over the past years.

with due respect to beau,i don't know that he can deliver what they desire.

But they agreed to a three year deal with Beau just a few months ago. It doesn't seem like there's a lot of forward-thinking going into these decisions.

I think missing the semis and the pressure that has put on Sheens has changed a lot of the thinking.
Now things need to be seen to be happening - and he can't rest on his laurels.
 
There is obviously a reason why his contract wasn't signed, none of us know the inner workings of the club we are all just speculating.

A crap end to the season required changes, which we all want, now it's happening and to me it looks like a shift towards youth and I completely agree with it. I love Beau and Rhino but at the end of the day are they the difference between us winning the comp or not ?? Absolutely not, bring on the young guns.

what a joke! Beau is wonderful for this club and to kicked out for having a friggin great year is disgraceful. To sign Lote over Beau just doesn't make any sense, Lote is injured more times than not and Beau has filled in so many positions it's not funny. If Beaus going just because Heighington is going that's o.k but if he was told to look around that is a disgrace.

There are denials from both sides, but it appears only a matter of time before Cronulla secure unwanted Wests Tigers winger Beau Ryan for the next three NRL seasons.

Ryan's immediate playing future has been plunged into limbo, with a new three-year deal he signed with the Tigers earlier this year falling through due to salary cap pressures.

There was speculation the 27-year-old had signed with the Sharks, but both the club and his manager Wayne Beavis denied any deal had been struck.

"It might happen down the track but certainly not today," Beavis told AAP on Monday.

"We're talking to a few clubs."

The Sharks say they are definitely interested in versatile outside back - who along with Penrith flyer Michael Gordon would add some much-needed speed to Cronulla's ranks.

The Tigers' decision to allow Ryan to leave has surprised many in rugby league circles following a standout campaign in 2012 when he filled gaps at wing, centre and fullback.

His efforts were rewarded with selection in the Prime Minister's XIII to play Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby on Sunday.

With Tigers back-rower Chris Heighington also in talks with the Sharks, Cronulla's squad could have a very black and gold feel to it in 2013 with ex-Tigers Bryce Gibbs and Andrew Fifita already at the club.
 
Sad if it happens,how much is Beau worth to the club sponsors being on TV every Week?,12 months on i still can't believe they let Gibbs go.
 
Hopfully we do a backflip can keep them its still a big chance all i want is to keep Beau Ryan. jsut becuase DT reported Lote Tuqiri re signed doesnt mean its offical lets just wait and see now.

Obviously he is just having a little fun, but sure hope it doesn't drive him to the Sharks

Expect to see a lot of confused tweets from the players.

Interesting that Chris's contract is the first official announcement after all the speculation around Beau.
 
How does anyone know if Ryan wasn't offered 50% more to go to Cronulla.

How much do you want to spend on a winger?

I think we need to know the facts before we can make a fair judgement.

As far as I'm concerned, Ryan is worth X amount and thats all we should pay him. If he wants to get more somewhere else good luck to him.

Heigno should have been given a send off.

Yeah,rumours on Twitter that Beau had to drop TV for next year,whatever the case if the Tige's don't fire in 2013 its going to get very messy.

They can have him if they were willing to offer three years.

Love Heighno for all he has given to WT but realistically he was out of the club post 2013 regardless

Yeah that seems an overly long contract. The Sharks remind of a kid at the start of Monopoly - just buy anything that comes avaliable and sort it out later!
