Moltzen was good, in fact, he was as good as he'll ever be at fullback. Put simply though, it's not good enough. He has the leaping ability under the high ball of Utai. If he won't get airborne to take a bomb, then he is essentially letting everyone else have first dibs on the ball. That's not good enough.
Miller was very good and a marked improvement on Round 1, although he had little chance to do anything in that game. He looked more comfortable yesterday too which is only a good thing. The more confident he gets the better Benji will look
Ayshford has learnt how to get outside his man again which is great to see. He still needs to remember how to tackle like he was in 2011.
Lawrence is looking lost. Koroibete ran up out of the line a few times to shut down the centre mostly because Lawrence was too deep in defence and not moving very much. Not sure what's going on there. We need Lawry in better form for his sake and to provide opportunities for Koroibete.
Marshall is starting to take on the line again, needs to do it more.
Farah appears to be hogging the ball, but he's really just helping Miller out. He did the same thing when Lui started at halfback.
Fulton has me baffled. The bloke is a workhorse defensively, always has been, but for some reason this year, he is not sticking that initial contact in defence and is having to work twice as hard to make a tackle. I put it down to him appearing to wrap up the ball in defence, instead of tackling around the waist or legs which is his strong point as a defender.
Anasta is a good back rower when he has strong back rowers either side of him. Sadly for him and the Tigers he has the light Fulton and the lazy Blair either side of him, which just makes Anasta look very bad and in defence isolates him.
Blair has had a better start to the year than last year, but boy he needs to lift big time. He's just not getting involved in the dirty work enough.
Buchanan has been a great get. The kid is going to have to almost replicate Woods 2012 season though, especially if Galloway is out for a long time, which I think he's capable of doing.
Utai too slow, poor hands, can't jump and horrible tackling technique. Shouldn't be in the backline again.
Woods is starting to improve his agility even more which is just remarkable to see in a young prop. He stands a chance of becoming the best prop for Balmain, Magpies and WT since Blocker I reckon.
