Tigers Premiership winner calls on Jason Taylor to walk

@ghost said:
If Taylor had "let" Robbie play like this we would have won more games.

ITS OBVIOUS!!!

Think about this.
Robbie Farah is an experienced player. As such he should know lots of different structures as well as 'his own game' IE his preferred way of playing.
Jason Taylor has been given the job of not only coaching two inexperienced halves to **play** to high percentage structures, but also to **lead** a team around the paddock. No mean feat.
I have no idea of the discussions that took place re this between Farah and Taylor. From my perspective they probably defined the role Farah would play to allow for the halves to take a stronger part in the leadership roles.
Your suggestion may be quite true, if Farah had continued to play and lead as he was accustomed to we may have won more games. But then, that may have come at the expense of the valuable experience the halves have gained.
Food for thought anyway.

Im gutted the way Robbie is getting treated and thousands of us here feel the same

BUT let me say one thing .. Karma.. . Always comes to bite you
If Robbie played a hand in the Sheens Departure well then its his payback

If JT is behind Robbie getting kicked out then he will get his payback..

I rest my case (For now)

Oh yeah forgot about him
I personally wanted him gone as he buggered off Benji so i NEVER felt sorry for Potter

If anything i was happy we were free from the Potter Curse

Robbie has not played like he did yesterday for two reasons. Firstly he has a bad year with injuries and Secondly and the main reason he has been playing to coach Taylor's new structure, which included the two young halves directing play!

Don't think the tigers are a front for a detention centre if anyone of these so called players that don't like the coach and want to walk there's nothing holding them from the door just ask for a release and GO!

What does it tell you if a player can only play well under his own conditions?

It's easy to say "coaches should coach to a player's strengths", and to some extent that is true, but the players have to be flexible as well because it is a team game.

If you can only get the best individual performances from each player doing what he wants, then how are you supposed to get a good team performance?

In fact it is the lack of consistent team performances that has always been our downfall, not lack of individual good efforts.

Sack the coach? Then we'll have 3 coaches to payout. & Robbie still has 2 years on his contract. I'm left shaking my head with the whole setup at WT. (expletive deleted)
I have never liked Taylor and was cringing when he got the job. Small minds with huge egos all around IMHO.

Love ya Gibbo but Me think you may have a slight agenda…anyhow the person I'd really like to get an opinion from is Tim Sheens...wait a tick

http://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/dumped-wests-tigers-coach-tim-sheens-says-he-was-disappointed-by-treatment-from-senior-players/story-fn2mcuj6-1226592082801

Asked whether a show of public support from senior players like Marshall and skipper Robbie Farrah could have saved his job, Sheen responded: "Put it this way: players get rid of coaches".
>
"It's generally senior players too," he added.
>
"The 19-year-old; if you tell him it's black and it's white, he'll still believe it's black. The older player who starts to struggle with their form, and for whatever reason isn't happy - or his form isn't happy - looks externally rather than internally. That causes generally the demise of coaches."

And looks like they will get rid of another one…..things haven't changed much over the years....Sheens wins a premiership, but he's not good enough anymore...Potter tries his best with his hands tied, but he's not good enough either....Taylor takes a hard line with the board to clear our financial strains to buy better players and tries to teach the team about NRL defensive structures, but that's not good enough for this lot either......

Nothing will be good enough until some seriously hard decisions are made within this club....
But look what happens when a hard line is taken and it doesn't suit some within the ranks......

I honestly don't think that they will dump Taylor, TT.
My take is that the board are sticking solid behind the coach this time.

They know it's bad news right now but it will blow over.
Mid next year mate. A full off season and half a year without Robbie's influence - then we will know.

This is EXACTLY why he can't be in the team. It's a team game, and for captain courageous to make a return in Round 25 when we are now trying to avoid the spoon, is the height of arrogance.

Potter was barely paid in the first place.

Premiership-winning ex-Wests Tigers forward Bryce Gibbs has called on coach Jason Taylor to exit the club after Robbie Farah embarrassed his boss with a starring performance in the 50-16 win over the Warriors.
Days after Taylor told him he could leave the club or play reserve grade next year, Farah responded with a man-of-the-match display that featured a try, three try assists and two line breaks.
Farah's treatment and response earned him widespread support and opened Taylor up to ridicule, led by Gibbs.

Fans chanted 'Robbie, Robbie' after Farah opened the scoring at Campbelltown Stadium, while others showed their support with signs or via social media.
The Tigers skipper admitted he came into the game determined to make a point.
"I was at home last night and I thought 'I'm just going to come out and get the mojo back and play a bit of my footy' and it came off," Farah said.
"After the week I've had, to put 50 on and the performance of the boys shows how tight we are here.
\
\
"We're off the bottom of the ladder which is the main thing.
Asked about the support he's received, Farah said: "It gave me goose-bumps. The Tigers fans have been absolutely outstanding…the general public, family and friends…they've all been there to support me.
"I've been down on confidence all year and the support I've had this week has been unbelievable, it’s been overwhelming.
"It's made a tough week easy to handle."

Yes but why didn't Farah play like he did yesterday in other games this season.
He hasn't been playing his best- very inconsistent- if he had the spark that he displayed yesterday in all his club games this season, he may not be in the situation that he now finds himself in !

Quotes from Farah after the game, it is obvious he has been playing to JT's you beaut game plans until yesterday.

Say what you like about Gibbs, Beau, Moltzen etc. Like they got an axe to grind or what ever, maybe. However you know they talk to current players. Probably current players with the same views. They are only saying what some current guys cant. Not saying they all hate Taylor, but players talk, and this sort of stuff, well its a worry. There seems like there is some genuine dislike of him.

I think they're just standing up for a mate. Has anyone that's not a mate of Farah called for taylors head?

Apart from the 4000 people on this forum?

You think the 4000 people on here are NRL players?

Taylor didnt coach the origin side did he? Robbie has been in poor form. Play the blame game all you want but individual form comes down to 1 person, and it isn't the coach.

Im not a huge fan of Taylor but geez some people struggle to be objective. Hasn't hurt Tedesco too much. :deadhorse:

Judging by some of the rubbish posted by people on here you'd think yes. Anyway the comment was just a little light hearted poke.

agree .. jason taylor should walk .. and keep walking … he is not a coach .. as a person, he cant even look an interviewer in the face when talking .. he looks down, around, a sign of guilt and a sure sign of weakness .. he apologizes for the team losing before the game even starts ... he has no credentials .. no game plays .. nothing ... no sponsor will want to back wests while taylor is there ... get rid of him now and start over -- with robbie farah .. no comparison ...

Potter was paid what he was owed.

Sheens came to agreement after threatening court action.
