All these ratings are very strong.

Think you start with benji at 8.5....would be higher if he didnt get run over by frizzell a few times
Noffa 8, strong work rate but still some errors
Twal & Luc 7.5 very solid games
Aioli, Mikaele 7 also very solid without being game changing
Rest of the team 6-6.5. Doueihi had a much better second half, BJ not busy enough and not enough impact, reynolds was just ok, musgrove, lawrence, MCK. walters very good debut considering unfamiliar position
Jennings and thommo 5. unforgiveable errors. Momo scores both jennings changes and thommo gets found out at 1

In terms of tactics i thought we shifted the ball wide too early in the first half allowing them to slide easily against our shifts. We were more direct and effective in the second half

I thought Benji's game management was excellent, especially once we got the lead.
And Nofo - well, easily his best game ever.

Nofo a 10 is a bit much, maybe 8

Walters has exceeded my expectations, 7.5 for me, take away the two times he lost the ball in the tackle and he's a 8.5.
I like the kid

Nobody played a 1/10 game yesterday. You’re still full of piss from it , of course.

Thompson 4 For me - very poor
Jennings at least a 6 on that?

Jennings bombed two tries that some good wingers would of scored.
But other than that he was ok.
Not bad by any means

I’m more concerned about Thompson
His second half was better than the first, but his second phase play is not quite up to scratch.
His kick returns lacked any sort of punch too, maybe it was the weather not sure.
Is it too early to put him on the wing and run with AD at fullback?

I have the same concerns. The dropped balls running back can happen to anyone (all be it carrying it one hand in the wet contributes), but his positional play is a huge concern and the way he sweeps in the backline is pretty ineffective.

Yeah I couldn’t help but think to myself every time he got the ball nothing was going to happen
Needs to straighten the attack up instead of running the boys outta room.
I think he will get better cause he seems like someone who takes criticism well but that’s something done in the off season
We don’t have that time now.i hope AD has been training fullback ??

Going off both of their second halves, I know exactly who runs a good line+ straight n hard

Take away the two shockers of passes and he is down to 6.5 at best. Tried hard, sure and a handy back up, but for mine that's about it based on what he has shown thus far.

I thought it was a good start to the season.

Bj had no ball because his brother cut it off and then ran with it almost every time. LL had a great game and showed how much work he wants to put in.

Halves were good.

Didn't think Jennings ran so much, but stats don't lie.

Forwards were enormous against a better (on paper) pack.

We could've easily lost that game.....but held tough.

Thompson had one unlucky bounce (would've beaten everybody I don't care who it is) and one disgraceful drop when he didn't have to jink everywhere, but tried his guts out.

All in all hugely positive.....all headed in the right direction.

A fair bit of criticism here . . . some of you blokes are harsh.
On my TV, it was raining and we lost our halfback a day before the game, plus we debuted 5 players.
Small wonder there were a few dropped balls and guys not quite in synch yet.

It's round 1. It will take a few games before the ball handling and combos start to pay dividends.

hope Musgrove gets more time against the knights

how good was it to see them rumble forward!!!!!

Considering it was our first game away from home it was not too bad.

Past years this is the game we would of lost and gave up but very impressed with the solid mental attitude.

I was impressed by quite a few today but a couple of special mentions -
ET - He has been great for us and does a lot of 1% - Plus adds that experience we need when trouble hits
Adam D - in the 2nd half he really started to cause havoc and feel in a few weeks will transition into the FB role.
Twal - Excellent hard runner and has a great step for a big guy that will create space for runners

On a side note Thompson didn't have the best of games but I like how Madge kept him back there to show him that is a team effort and we all WIN together or LOSE together. I think if they took him off or swapped him it would of done more damages to his morale.

Overall a win is a win and will take the 2 pts.
