Hi guys, I've been reading this forum for while now as a guest but recently got some news from a contact of mine that I thought I should share.

The Tigers are very eager to sign the Australian Schoolboys Rugby Union team Flyhalf Andrew Deegan, I've been told the the club is expecting Mitch Moses and Luke Brooks to playing most of next season in either NRL or NSW Cup and are looking to sign players in the halves to replace the two young stars. It would seem that young Deegan could be their man. I hadn't heard of him before this so did a bit of research online and he's from St Josephs College the same school who produced Kurtley Beale, and there seems to be big wraps on him though I read he may also be balancing cycling commitments with rugby, not sure about that though.

An interesting move by club management to try sign Union players and it could well backfire but I hear the deal is just about done and he is expected to begin training with the 20s squad at the beginning of pre season! could he be a future star for the club?

I've seen him play, he's an outstanding player. Often thought we should keep poaching from union hehe but figured we'd need more forwards than backs. Which presents the question, why do we want another half??

When did you see him play? Could he possibly play hooker?

A while ago, would be over a year.

Ummm… yeah you're right! He's a VERY solidly built kid. All muscle, wouldn't be surprised if we didnt infact buy him to play hooker. Didn't stand out as a poor defender, i wasn't watching him the whole time obviously, but saw him break through nicely.

The best young union player i know of is a kid called Harry Jones. ~100kg and runs a sub 11 100m. aussie schoolboys for a couple of years too. Been offered a few contracts by Holden Cup teams when he was 17-18.

I've played rugby with and against Harry jones and I can tell you he will have a big future in footy whether it be union or league

Just goes to show, you should never judge a person by their username.

I always thought you were a " MILF "

Sorry mate

People are really jumping the gun , we are in talks with a bloke who plays a completely different code who more likely than not won't even get a run in NYC and people are ready having him signed and playing NYC

Pretty big risk , especially if it means guys who are established league players moving on

Not many Union converts crack it in the NRL , the Tigers have had their fair share of failures in this area

Michael O'conner
Ray Price( I think came from union)
And of course Brian Smith

Yeah, it might not work.
So we'd better not try.

And that's one of the clubs biggest problems , we seem to take lots of chances with signings that probably are doomed from the start or the likelihood of success are limited

This is the difference between the top clubs and ourselves

Managing your cap is all about astute purchases

Which of our six signings are astute purchases ??
