Which Tigers players would you want next to you in the trenches? Struggling to get to six.

Well Potter was quoted as saying Luke Brooks is the kind of person who you would go to war with.
Certainly think although granted performances he was the harshest treated this year.

Found it especially interesting that after the Penrith game where we ‘failed to capitalise on opportunities’ he stated leading up to the Rabbitohs game that he thinks the team needs Marshall for points.
He was dropped the next game.

Feel like Madge has put particular focus on the halves this year, unfairly so as well, due to the fact we have a surplus of them yet other positions remained untouched.

Everytime I have watched Madge in his presser after games he always says he has faith in the squad" they work hard and are good players we just need to get the basics right and take the pressure off us"...

funny how things turn out now the players that cant get the basics right are blaming the one bloke who has spoken highly of his squad....here in Tigerland we dont have anything to do with ""get on the bus"".....

for us its ""throw him under the bus""

Players worried about losing their jobs. Looking to pass the blame instead of taking accountability and improving themselves.

That’s why we don’t win games and Madge is probably glad it’s coming to light so he knows exactly who to boot.

Blocker was on the Matty Johns podcast a couple of weeks talking about coming through the grades at Balmain.

He was talking about the early to mid eighties when the Tigers weren't great. The club invested in the Australian coach (Frank Stanton) who was a renowned hard-arse.

Frank cleaned out all of the old timers who were adequate but weren't world beaters and invested heavily in youth.

The investment paid off big-time in the late eighties. Hopefully history repeats....

It'd be great but it's a far different game ....Blocka and a few of his hard ass mates would play about 7 rds a year

Fair to say you missed the point there

I didn't ...but Blocka , Sirro ,Hemsley , Brooks etc were able to survive because they gave as good as they got

Then discuss clean out.

blocker may attractive , but you should raise your standards a little haha

Imagine the fine for the environmental damage we would get for dumping all that waste ....Harry T couldn't pay it

We would need bingo bins to jump onboard as a sponsor. Or that mob doing the deep cleans might be better

And I hope he boots quite a few that are soaking up cash like sponges and doing bugger all for it...

The players are absolutely correct...and most should be walking on eggshells based on their performances.
But our few consistent players...Harry..Aloui...Nofa and LL...DONT get dropped because they perform
Even more reason to get Benji/Packer/Reynolds/Mbye..the so called "leadership"group..out of the joint asap.Theyre simply not setting any performance standards ...quite the opposite
And the can take Brooks with them too.not that he cld have "lead" anything anywhere tbh...
Last thought on the subject..players complain that they train too hard...but we get smashed in the last 20 mins in most matches...combination of fitmess and leadership IMO

How disappointing it is to follow WT. I agree with your sentiment that the senior players need to be shown the door regardless of their performances (Nof excluded). Any attributes they bring on the field are counteracted by the fact they are LOSERS.

This is exciting zoo. We get more talking points in 1 week than other clubs do in a season...

Enthralling stuff. Keeps the juices flowing. Keeps you on your toes. Never a dull day etc.

Support the jersey, not the players. The nuffies and plodders come and go but the one constant is the club. We can't let the players drag us down to their level.

I need a week of work to keep up with the posts ?

It's a 24hr newsroom on here. Blink and you've missed 100 pages and 5 new threads.
It boggles the mind. More action than a casino during chinese new year

I need to get an office job so I can bludge on the forum all day like most of the punters on here ?

I thought forums would be dead after things like Facebook and Reddit popped up. Yet here we all are, still discussing away.

This is great news. Makes it even easier for Madge to drop these players and have the full backing of the board and fans. The squad needs a massive clearout. Everyone knows it except the soft and lazy players fighting for their fat pay check

If true it is very disappointing and it seems as though it could be true (we have a self destruct button).

Then let the clean out begin "Big Time" - easy to get rid of the players who's contracts are up in about a month - however the trouble is you can't clean out people on contract and it is most probably some of these that should go. Nuffies like Mbye, Packer and Reynolds (what do you do with them) - if they are involved stand them down for the remainder of their time or play them in cc (when it comes back on line) like we did with McQueen, they wouldn't be missed in the NRL squad, trouble is they would then be infecting the cc squad.

Maybe the way to go is a giant fire sale - get rid of all the perpetrators and play youngsters - lot of defeats but at least players that want to be here.

Think there's truth to it. Chammas in his article this evening (posted in Benji thread) said a "crisis" meeting did take place. https://weststigersforum.com/topic/31369/pressure-mounts-on-marshall-to-make-his-call/221?page=15

Let me begin by saying that I am as disappointed and frustrated as anyone with another season of failure.

However it was interesting reading people’s reaction to the story. Lots of emotion as fans and this is expected but in all reality for the players, this is their workplace. Now just imagine this is your workplace and your supervisor had everyone fearful of being sacked - it would be expected that there would be a complaint or escalation.

If this is true, the fact this was leaked (and my guess is a player)indicates a fair amount of disharmony with some players. If Madge has lost some of the playing group as this story implies then It has been my observation that as soon as the media note a “lost dressing room” then coaches start dusting off their CV.

I fear this will end badly - my guess is another media frenzy that will make us even a less desirable destination. An ugly player or coaching departure(s) that will be bypassed by the the caliber of player we need to turn things around.

I'm with you Russ, but who's going to take Packer, Reynolds and Mbye on any money let alone even half their salary?

swing the axe Madge. if perennial underperformers are questioning the abilities of a premiership winning coach make sure they know where the door is.

They can't be sacked as they are contracted
They may be dropped but they still get paid the same
If I had a boss and he told me I wouldn't be working this week but I still get paid as a normal week, I wouldnt be bitching about it
The hide of some of our players
Our players suck big time
They lack strength, desire, resolve, ability, natural talent, speed, brains and skills
But at least they know how to [This word has been automatically removed] and complain
What's next
Resignations at the very top

Any chance of knowing which players?
They should be named and shamed, sounds more ego than playing well for us.

Thought that Madge has tried sticking with a similar side these past few weeks?
Slight tinkering but every side does this.
Any player that has been dropped this season deserved it, prefer accountability for performance.

Interesting rumbling have come since Sunday when Benji met with Madge and told would not be offered a contract in 2021.

How does the Media get hold if these stories unless it’s the players think the coach had better things to do reshaping the roster.

Then the rumour gets our earlier today and then player unrest, there always seems to be a mid week drama with this playing group.

So let’s back Madge extend his contract now for 2 years and the players that confronted him don’t deserve a roster spot move them on.

Seriously there don’t deserve to represent us on there high paid salaries and can’t play as a group to make the finals.

These 3 players should be ashamed of what they have contributed to the tigers
They have absolutely no right to complain if in fact they are involved

Any chance the supporters can throw eggs at them when these sooks play next time at home ground. Bench or grandstand might get messy.
We know they won’t catch them lol

Nah everyone knows the players are wrong here. No one supports them

Hahaha omg. Humans.

- A lot of these blokes were crap w Cleary too. Was it Cleary's fault? And was Maguire not the coach of an encouraging team last year?

- and if they really don't like it, they should leave. The phone may not ring as quickly or as often as they might think though.

- but Maguire has to take some blame. These performances are a sign of a team that isn't on the same page as their coach. While he may not want a lot of these players, he has them and he has to put them in position to succeed.
