It’s really not about that at all.... it’s about the fact Campbelltown hasn’t got a game all season. No one is complaining about the game being moved to make it special for Benji and rowdy.

I get that angst and Im not belittling it or picking a CSS v LO fight. Unfortunately that Victorian at the Crossroads pub screwed that for CSS. Additionally I am not aware, but there are other COVID safe requirements in place that actually I thought LO & CSS didnt meet? Im not aware of what they are but maybe there is some idiosyncrasy at CSS that doesnt meet requirements (hard to imagine that there is something worse at CSS than LO).

There’s only been 2 or 3 people in this thread vocally against taking the game to LO. One of them I’ve rarely seen before, and one is me. And I know I never criticised the club about how they handled Marshall’s exit. I actually defended it.

Ah...I get what you are saying. Not mutually exclusive you can be for one and not the other.

To be honest, Im not that invested in it, my post was more a reaction to a lot of the (not unwarranted) negativity here lately. Some here hate Pascoe and thats fair enough, thats their opinion but it seems that everything is twisted to fit these biases.

For mine the club has handled both things well. I understand that Rowdy is a Campbelltown jnr but it seems to me that LO always has a bigger "hype" around it, particularly with the media and its a bigger and easier sell as a spectacle to the media and disinterested public.

The club always loves to use Leichhardt for things like this though. Every big game and important milestone always seems to end up there while Campbelltown gets the scraps.

Dont lose track of the fact that after the Crossroad Pub cluster Campbelltown was "officially" a COVID hotspot and the NRL bubble had to be excluded from there. Im not aware if that has been lifted (Campbelltown is not listed by NSW DoH but from memory it was a QLD Govt designation).

OK admittedly I have been going to LO for a long time and love the place, but I really dont think its a conspiracy, nor do I think that LO is "better" than CSS. IMO it is just a much easier sell to the media and the neutral public as a "Spectacle" or an event. LO isnt better than CSS but it does have the heritage/nostalgia aspect to the image that CSS doesnt have and accordingly is easier to sell as "Boutique". Plus obviously closer to inner city & inner west. For mine its simply marketing.
