Tigers V Dogs

We lost a really important game to then last year. Last year our team was built around 100% enthusiasm and really no skill. This meant at times we could compete with the big teams based on grit early, but when we played the lower teams we didn't have the class to put them away.

I think we are better this year, but we still don't have a team where in any instance we are just going to go in and walk over any team. We don't have the attack or the players to do that. Id tip us, but I am definitely not overly confident.

If our forwards play anywhere near the aggressive game we have developed, and our spine stay patient, we will win by 30\. But 20 might come in the last 20\. Win the battle - then score the points

For once it would be nice if there wasn’t people showed confidence that things are different, and accept that we will win a game we should. Yes they beat us last year, but it was a day after Cleary secretly met with Penrith. We didn’t lose through complacency like you are implying. The Dogs are on their way to the spoon. We win by 40 if we’re on. 20 if we’re complacent. Stop being a doom and gloomer and enjoy it.

Do u think the dogs wont win a game this year? They will beat someone at some stage. The Tigers are one team that they will fancy. It's a danger game.

Never said they wouldn’t win a game. Just not this game. Have some confidence. The side have earned it over the first two weeks.

we defend well because of no Nofo leave him out id say.

Yeah where the hell was Nofoaluma when Maumalo scored 10m infield I bet..should have stayed on his wing

We are all enjoying the position we are in, but you cant blame anyone for being abit sceptical and wary for this weeks game. We've had to endure some tough seasons as WTs supporters and consistency has always been an issue for us. The season is looking bright so let the wins keep coming.

Doesnt matter who we play Im always wary. Two good performances doesnt wipe away years of disappointment. Very impressed with the whole team and how Maguire has got them playing but things have a way of turning quickly with this club. We should win but but we should have won a lot of other games too, and didnt. It will be a good test.

Talk of "resting" players??
Pretty common knowledge most teams that win the comp use the least players of all teams.
Unforced changes (injuries, suspensions etc) are a coaching headache

If you were down to your last 20 dollars, and a generous bookie offered you a thousand to one odds on whoever you like in this game, would you go with the Dogs?

I think us tigers fans should be very confident going into this game. Our 2 wins by our standards have been big ones and very convincing ones. Since when have we ever had at any point in a regular season a for and against that's ever looked this good let alone be on top of the table. I don't think we will clock off in this one.

I really don't know how you can claim we will just win by 40 if we are on and 20 if we are not. This is the most open professional sporting competition in the world and most teams can beat most teams on their day. I mean, the Tigers beat the Roosters last year and they were streets apart in quality.

Yes I would tip us this week, but theres no way this is a walk in the park. We are definitely an improved team, but we are not world class and 2 rounds is not enough to judge some big questions about us, particularly in relation to our attack where we were the worst in the NRL last year. While we have had a good start, there are alot of small things which can go either way on a different day (EG - Vs Manly, any other fullback passes the Garrick break and they score, or the deflection for the Farah try could of gone either way).. On a different day those two could go against us and its a different game. Don't get me wrong, we are improved, but there is no way we are at the quality of a side who can either rest players, or just assume the are going to win. We still have a very unthreatening backline (which the dogs completely shut down last year easily), inconsistent halves and are just not going to just walk through anyone.

And idk how over the first two weeks you can’t see that us winning is the only result. I’m not usually one to go off early about our chances, but come on. I’m not being cocky either, just honest. We’ll win.

Masters also saved his bacon by bundling Maumalo in touch on the line when Mahe did exactly the same as Nofo did in the trial, not trusting his inside man.
