On reflection... at least we made them earn it, we made sure the Raiders left plant of bark and blood at Cambo

That is one point, they left feeling sore. I'd be surprised if Wighton can see out of his eye this morning.

All through the 2nd half I kept seeing Raiders players with jerseys covered in blood, I couldn't work out where it was coming from until I saw BJ leg. He had blood all over it so the blood must have been coming from when they tackled him.

After sleeping on it I think we have a lot to be proud of.
Still not convinced on our bench rotation.
A few things go our way last night and we end up winning 🌝

Just watched the post-match press conference. To sum it up, Madge happy with the first half and happy with the overall effort. Not so happy about the execution in the second half.

I hope there are more changes coming as a result.

Did he mention he made another blunder picking packer

For someone who clearly has no time for the current coach if you want to lay blame for "blunders" in relation to Packer maybe you should aim them at the previous genius coach.

Shows how rubbish we have been in the last couple years when we are proud of putting effort in for 80 minutes. That’s their job, it’s something they should do every week no question.

Happy they improved but we still need to be better. They imploded in the last 20 minutes with a bunch of different guys making errors.

Much better effort tonight - boys really had a dig.
Anyone who says Madge has lost the sheds doesn’t know footy. They responded to him amazingly.
Here’s the thing - this commitment last week and we get 2 points. Bloody frustrating.
Also, ref did not cost us this game: unforced errors cost us - usual problem
Packer also cost us. Poor lateral movement led to try, 10 minutes in bin and a penalty goal from a head shot. Players should call him out - terrible effort from him.

Need to score more than 6 points to have a chance to win a game, we had our opportunities but just couldn't create anything. AD is growing on me though, I was critical of his signing, I'd like to see a player trailing on his inside as he goes through the line with his footwork.

He was far better ..probably only caught out twice positionally from memory

I'm still not convinced he is a fullback, his positioning really isn't good enough.

C'mon Cochise - he was really good tonight, hardly an error. Didn't think he got caught out of position at all.

He is growing into the roll at the rate of knots.

Wasn't a Doueihi fan when we signed him, but he got us onto the front foot coming out of our end. Never looked to be dominated in the tackle.

I still reckon he's a bit slow and cumbersome and doesn't back up enough, but hopefully that comes with time.

Warming to him and always happy to be proven wrong about a player.

It was clear that the team tried hard last night. And without Grant, who is on loan, we would have been in all sorts defensively and looked even more haphazard in attack. Unfortunately, we lack the dynamic forwards to lay a platform for the backs and don't have the speed or creativity in the backs to score well structured tries. It seems that we're currently only scoring tries from mistakes or ad lib jungle ball. The only time we really get a roll on is following a surge from Nofa, which is worrying. With the current crop, it appears unlikely that we're going to be able to turn this around anytime soon. However, I do feel that Benji needs to be in the side whether it's in the starting lineup or on the bench. Despite his defensive weaknesses he provides at least some degree of game management and creativity needed out there. And, if the Titans hadn't stolen victory last weekend we (including Madge) would have been applauding his efforts having iced the game with a late field goal.

Reynolds gets a B+ from me. He did pretty well.

Packer a Z-.

I mean really. 9 metres! 9 bloody metres! I ran further than that to the dunny at halftime!

From memory he only had one run. The rest of the time he was on we didn't have the ball.

He did. 1 run. NRL reckons he was on for 13 minutes. I don’t want to watch the replay but surely he had time for a second run. Big money prop starting from the bench should have had two runs first attacking set.

Not sticking up for him but.. the ball kept going the other side, hence 1 run.

I cant stand REynolds as a bloke or as a player and wish he was out of the club, but credit where credit is due, he stood up today and other than once racing out of the line that meant Grant needed to save his ass, he didnt do anything stupid. Reynolds had a pretty good game.

He will improve with a couple of games under his belt. I hope his passing improves. How many times did players outside him need to stop their run to reach behind for his pass?
On that performance nobody should be dropped. A performance they should be proud of. imo

Unrelated to the game and only the folks of my vintage (mid 30's,) will get it but George Williams is the real life likeness of Doug Funny from the cartoon Doug.

Good players find the ball and call for it.

Tommy Talau cemented his spot on the wing I reckon

Talau should move to the centres. JL and Mbye do not bring enough to the team to keep Talau from the position he should be learning. It's time for change.

My first post re this game

Whilst I am gutted that that one got away but I am very proud of the team and the coach.

More of these efforts and we will be the club that most of us have wanted to be for 20 years.

Very proud.

What I learned about the game

- Chris Lawrence and Seyfarth should be dropped immediately
- Mbye and Packer need to go ASAP
- Tommy Talau cements his spot in the squad
- Twal and Grant are our best players with there being a distant third
- Reynolds deserves to be in the side in some way
- Doueihi should continue fullback and not be transitioned into a 5/8 next year
- BJ Leilua should be on his last warning, told to aim up or be dropped for Talau with Thompson going to wing
- Despite the loss the squad showed a lot of heart and hoping we can take that into next week and get that W

Interesting read, had to get up early for work so missed the game.

Really disappointed with Packer's stats, not surprising, just disappointing that he didn't take this opportunity.

A huge leap of faith from the coach giving him a run and that's his response.

Just saw on twitter.... last night the ref managed to forget how to count and gave us four tackles instead of five. Second time in three weeks it has happened. WTF IS THAT ABOUT

Unusual Sutton is a Queenslander so he only has to look at one hand to get to 6
