Just watched Madge in the presser. Didn't unload on anyone but admits the club has a lot of work to do (well duh!). Halves did some good things and some bad things, forwards didn't lay a platform and we got rolled through the middle far too easy which allowed the Roosters to score some soft tries.

Said the players are disappointed, (they may train hard but they leave their heads at home). Grant due back next week. Not much else to add.

The team is playing worse now than when Maguire started last season ... I am glad there has been no extension ... that team performance tonight was appalling the team did not look like it was coached by an experienced NRL coach .. no form.. no shape .. no moves .. no motivation .
Is Maguire the coach to move the team forward well no on what has been presented over the last month .

The club seems to think so.

I challenge any coach to move this team/club forward, I really don’t think it’s possible!

A great coach could improve the team for a few years, we need cultural change from the top to change the club.

The plodders and nuffies can’t even go to Bali this year ?

No they'd find the energy / guts to row to Bali from Sydney

Screw putting it on the line in a footy game though

Oh please. We are playing a second string side. We are missing what, Grant and Musgrove?

If you truly believe that I really do feel sorry for you.

Same in reverse champion. They are missing a plethora of first choice players and we are still down by four converted tries...

That is the reality of our situation. We are simply not good enough. That was obvious prior to the start of the year.

Let’s face it guys we are in a whole different division to teams like the Roosters, whether they’re depleted or not. They are a first grade team playing against a reserve grade team.

We are building from within keeping our best juniors and buying the best from elsewhere. I've heard Gould advise to do it right and build the club from within like the Panthers. We just have to keep moving ahead with this goal.

I have said it before the mediocrity meets once a month ! Being there tonight sitting on the grass as I did in the 70’s on a Wednesday night for an Amco cup game just reflects how much this organisation has progressed !

You could have slid down the hill on a piece of cardboard and got more meters than the Pacman.

But your right, we're not cut out for NRL. Bring back Balmain and the magpies in CC.

Agree with you 100% snake...this team has gone backwards under Maguire, and will continue to

A little story about the Amco cup (and 100% true).
We used to get the replay an hour later than Sydney a couple of friends would listen to the game on the radio, know the result.
Then go to a of the local pub and watch the game, knowing the result they would start to take bets on the score, mostly for schooners, and they were big guys that could drink all night.
They did this scam for a couple of before people caught on.

I wouldn't call the chicken's side second string... the only one missing is Keary... please do correct me if I'm wrong... it still is a pretty good side... we are just poor tonight

Keary
Aubusson
Radley
Verrills
Crichton
Tupou
Cordner
Lam

All of those guys if fit would have played tonight.

And yet they still started $1.30 favourites. Salary cap is doing a good job huh.

About time this 3rd party garbage gets some clarification and transparency. From what I can see the cap is totally irrelevant. All the figures should be public knowledge and the new way to look at teams is cap + 3rd party’s. Then we’ll see how even and fair this comp is.

In a year's time, after we unleash our array of young talent the biggest challenge will be to fend off predatory clubs.

I agree with you many times @Pawsandclaws ! BUT - I’m old school and I get frustrated with Brooksey when I see him shaking hands after the game with a big smile on his face after a flogging. It might be ok in 2020 but in my day it’s just not acceptable.

He has a lot of talent but I want players that will bleed for us - not sure how many of those we have but if you ask me despite many that don’t rate him on this forum - Nofa at least gives 110%. I wish we had 13 of him with his attitude.

All - fire at will!

I know the smiling upsets a lot of supporters. I think it just comes naturally to Brooks. Brooks will recover.

You mention Nofoloama as giving 110% but what he does in defence reminds me of my history teacher's advice. He was old school and believed in the stick but his favourite advice was, if you make an error once it is a mistake. Do it twice and you are not listening. A third time and you don't care.

Fair play - and point taken. However, Brooks does not show the drive despite enormous talent. In a dog fight - Nofa or Brooks? Yes he is young and can turn it around but he needs to show more of the ability he possesses.

Brooks has too many self doubts to rise from the ashes, he is intimidated by his opposite number, himself and more disturbingly his own teammates. Deep down there is a guy with talent but that will never rise to the surface.

That presser has me concerned, he was talking up the second half, fair dinkum he is as delusional as the team he picks

Cordner, Crighton, Radley, Aubuson and Verrills all would have been top 17, plus a few back ups

The fact we got blown off the park and they had all those guys missing is a disgrace.

True, but the fact they have all those plus what played tonight is also a disgrace as well, the NRL are no strong organisation

Ain’t that the truth.

We all knew this would be tough. Some of the comments are disgraceful.

Yeahhhhh real tough to get a decent score against a depleted team

We've big changes in the roster coming. The impact of Cleary's buys are hurting. Reynolds, Mbye, Packer.

Agree but 2022 is Looooooonnnng way away Paws.

An expected scoreline when I woke up this morning for work.

It's going to be a long couple of years waiting for the cap to be sorted. I hope the board sticks with Madge to see it all out, we can't be going backwards with continued coach changes.

Doueihi absolutely immense tonight. Shining light in a rough night. He’s always been safe and solid but this is the first time I’ve been genuinely excited about his future with us.

Had a great game at fullback but I see his long term future in the centres. That line he ran off Benji was all class and he made it look easy. With his size, skill and smarts he has the potential to be an elite centre. Put a speedy winger outside him and that is deadly.

Great game at FB so let's put him in the centre.

Are you for real.
