Looks like we will have a real National Rugby League- not the International one we have now. Bad luck, leave them out altogether and bring in another Australian team next year.

Exactly kick them out and bring in 2 new franchises.. they want to run home to mummy then tear up there franchise ... Many international Sporting teams are gone for months playing international competitions including there own All Blacks .
Every body in the NRL are doing everything possible to keep it afloat ... New Zealand Warriors bad luck we’re going home ?.
Bye Bye

Sorry to disappoint..

The Warriors will continue in the 2020 NRL season.

The Warriors have committed to staying in the NRL for the 2020 season, with the demands they asked of the game’s authorities coming to light.

Speaking at a press conference at their Mt Smart stadium CEO Cameron George confirmed that Stephen Kearney’s side would play on.

But a list of the Warriors’ demands have come to light in the wake of the announcement.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the Warriors squad asked three things of the NRL.

- The NRL cover all costs of them being based in Australia

- They let the Warriors loan players and give them salary cap relief

- The NRL support the visits of the squad’s wives and partners along with children to Australia when it is possible

George, meanwhile, said the players wanted to stand up and play on and show leadership.

“The entire squad is locked in and ready to go,” he said. “They understand the issues that different individuals got on the table. But they’re sticking together ... [The NRL] have called on us and we’ve stepped up to the task.

“If we were told to leave your family and live in another country for an indefinite period, not many would ... we’re very proud of the players.

“The deciding factor was that it’s our time to be leaders in the community and rugby league ... we’re gonna stand tall and be leaders and take it on.

“These guys aren’t falling away from the challenge ahead..

The decision comes despite new restrictions being placed on those entering Australia, after New Zealand announced similar rulings over the weekend.

The Warriors had been training in northern NSW this week prior to Saturday’s clash against Canberra, and they are expected to base themselves in Australia for the foreseeable future.

They had only agreed to play Round 2, and would then reassess how the playing group felt about their futures.

Two players, Patrick Herbert and Peta Hiku, had already decided to head home after last Saturday’s loss to Newcastle to be with their young families.

Why not ... the NRL give them everything for nothing in return already.

What is going to happen here? I realise there is alot that can happen before then..

But its two weeks away and we can't enter New Zealand. If they go home after this week or next week, they need a two week isolation, meaning they wont be eligible to play that game anyway.

Do you think they will stay in OZ for another two weeks?

And say for arguments sake that Australia went into lock down on the second of April and a few days before hand all domestic flights are cancelled and that's one week before school holidays and it was planned to go for two weeks and a third if needed there would be no rugby league and the AFLs idea would make sense to play for 17 weeks it would be like the have inside information and very smart and ties in with the planed time that Qantas plans to shut all international flights with they announced the other day

What? It's nothing to do with 'running home to mummy', it's both our governments closing the border. In fact by trying to play on based in Australia, they are really bending over backwards. It's probably costing them a fortune in unplanned accommodation costs.
