Tim Grant

As much as Keith was a good clubman his performances the last couple of seasons was underwhelming. So far Grants added bit more sting and good meterage to our team, which has allowed our backs the much needed ball.

GRANTed!(mmmmm) We were short a front rower, but I've gotta say that Tim could not have been a more perfect fit in terms of position an salary cap.
I got a feeling!!!!!!

I'm liking Tim more and more every week.

Everyone will think I'm nuts for saying this but if Grant keeps it up he wouldn't be out of place on the bench for NSW.

In the preseason I thought we needed to sign a prop because we were short and our young props were too young and inexperienced . Once Grant's signing was announced I though ok he'll do (as we got him in a way our salary cap hurt) coming off the bench to relieve Ava.
He had exceeded all my preconceived thoughts . Hope he stays long term. At least another year or two after this season.

Considering he signed for 3 years i'd say there's a bloody good chance he'll be around for longer than this season!

The idea isn't too far fetched. Grant's played in the front row for NSW before, and has said he's keen to win his spot back. Ironically it was Aaron Woods who replaced him.

Fair call Sabre. He didnt get picked last time for nothing. And sat Petero on his ass if I recall? No mean feat indeed.

Ava was in my opinion the best prop out there. He runs hard and with speed. Grant though has been great.

Except he ends up on his back almost everytime, and ends up with a slow play the ball. He hits the line hard and wins the impact, but loses the next part to finish on his back.

Our go forward is seriously diminished when he is on.

Petero had the same problem early in his career, and after a while they made that his sole goal, every run his team mates would yell front, front, front. And is after match stats were all about how many times he found his front and he fixed the issue and became a star. Hopefully Ava can do the same.

I was skeptical all about signing him at first , but he's been a good buy, just the fact that he's at top speed when he gets the ball is a big improvements needed what we have.
My only reservation is that, I can't remember any time that he actually breaks the line, he hits it hard but the breaks haven't come.
But he certainly gains some meters and deserves his spot.
I can't stand seeing props ambling into the defence at half speed.

Grant's not there for linebreaks, he's there to commit 2 or three defenders and hopefully leave the defence scrambling on the play the ball. Hit them hard and get up quick. The breaks will come on the subsequent tackles with defenders on the back foot. I would love to see some more offloads in Grant's game, but if he does nothing but build good momentum early in the set, he earns his spot for mine.

I'm happy to see him in the team, just saying that with the speed that he takes it up. I would hope that he can start breaking the line on some occasions. I'm sure he's not told not to

I really think he was a great buy, given a bit more time with this team and he will become a standout,he is doing pretty well at the moment and also the younger ones appreciate him in the team….

I agree.

I was on the anti Grant wagon but the bloke's proved me WRONG! Let's hope he keeps it up.
