Tim Moltzen

I still think Browns best position is centre to be honest. But he was excellent last season after taking a little time to adjust.

IF McKinnon can get his hamstring completel sorted though he should be the first option

brown is a star mckinnon is yet to prove he can get his hamstring right i say brown is first option.

i wouldnt say browns a star but hes certainly reliable and consistent. wade mckinnon has better support play but has a lot more errors in him. if moltz is at halfback, id have mckinnon at fb with brown on the bench

Not a bad point.

Brown could cover from 1-5 and has plenty of pace on him to inject him late. He can break a tackle too.

browns positional play is superb also.

Let Lui go to the Cowboys and put Moltzen at half back and Brown to full back. Doggy hamstrings and age is going against McKinnon. I think Daniela with his pace and footwork would make a great number 17\. Inject him into then game when the forwards are tiring. We never lost a game with Moltzen at half back and he is house mates with Marshall so they should have a great undertstanding. I hope Junior Moors is not a forgotten man next year. Has so much to offer. Bring on 2011.

Players like Lui don't come around that often. Parramatta would give their right arm to have him in their side at the moment.

You don't throw a Rolex watch out with the trash! What if Moltzen injured the knee again? Maybe we could just move Brown to half…...

Plus he is bigger than one thinks and still filling out- for me the buy of 2010

I still find it amusing the "we havent lost a game with Moltzen at Halfback" line.

Winning games is a far better stat and ironically, we have won more games with Lui at 7\. We need to find the best positions for both Lui and Moltzen as both will be superstars of the game if given time…

For me Moltz is either a centre, supersub (but with his skill he needs to preferably be on the whole time) or a 2nd Rower! I know that sounds weird but if he packed on another 5-8kgs he could be lethal in the backrow and Sheens has even said before he could see Moltz end up in the backrow, Lui has already proven to be a better halfback then Moltz and give him another year or 2 and Lui is going to be AWSOME!! Moltz runs some great lines off Marshall passes when at fullback plus his playmaking skills are helpful back there BUT he's not great at reading the defence when at FB and also isnt great under the highball, don't get me wrong i won't complain if Sheens plays him there but yeah i just dont think its his best postion..

saw him at an autograph signing - when he stood up, I realised how big and broad shouldered the kid is - its interesting you never really saw how big he was playing for the sharks, he just seemed to get smashed… I get the feeling he is very much a confidence player, and towrds the end of the year he fed off it from his teammates and fans.

2nd row

Lui has not proven to be a better halfback than Moltzen .

Hmmmm, alot of people seem to disagree with me when it comes to Brown. When I say average I don't mean poor - just ok. I wasn't that impressed at the start of the season. He wasn't that good under the high ball and his defense wasn't good at all. Thought he got better towards the end of the season though. Starting doing the simple things well. Probably best choice for fullback if Wade McInjured is buggered. Not sure if Mullaney is ready yet. I look forward to seeing how Mullaney goes during the trials.

Wouldn't you agree that he was easily the best in that position last year? (I understand Wade Mc didn't get much game time.) I'm sure with the revelation that Brown was at the latter part of the year I'm sure Sheens would love to have his time again with his selections at fullback. But, as they say, hindsight is a lovely thing.

At the end of the day the Tigers are in a position of strength. Moltzen is coming along nicely and will be right for round 1, Lui is back with the main squad now and is training well from all reports and the Tigers have options in the halves. Trial games may reveal more, but I reckon Moltzen might have the early jump on Lui.

I liked what I saw from Brown. He definitely seems a confidence player. When Sheens entrusted the fullback jersey with him, he re-paid it. He was improving week to week.

McKinnon has been injury-affected his whole career. He has had his moments where there was talk about possible rep honours but he never stayed on the field long enough.

Beau was solid but had some mistakes him in. Moltzen played tough but did seem to struggle physically in the position at times. His a half.

Either way competition for spots will bring out the best in the boys.

Moltzen went well at half particularly working in well with Benji and Robbie BUT what will Sheens' view be, he seems to like Lui at half.
