Tim Moltzen

Go watch the semi vs Saints again if you can. Lui is the best player on the field.
Defintely must be the starting 7 next year. Moltz should start off in the 14 if he is injury free.

I have decided and this is it Final…

After a few games

1 McKinnon
2 Lote
3 Moltz
4 Lawrence
5 TNT
6 Benji
7 Lui

Lock it mods....

Arrrg…we DONT have 7...

Give it to Farah then....Oh wait

In 2009 you were pretty much correct as we definitely played our halves either side of the ruck more often than not. Maybe at the start of 2010 we still saw this tactic, but towards the half way mark of the year, I think we mainly switched back to a first & second receiver. This role was shared between Lui, Farah & Benji and we looked a lot more dangerous, especially Benji….

Your just a closet Farah at 7 Fan aren't you?

To me, Moltzen is too small for a centre but haven't seen him since 20 weeks so you never know. But I'm not a fan of Moltz at 3\. We have a better option of Ashyford as 3 and I stand my ground at Moltzen being the regular no.14 (Craig Wing style).

Moltzen is OUR halves/combo partner for BENJI/FARAH AND PAYTEN then…

Every body get on the same page OK...

Stop giving SHEENS... ideas...

And on Robbie Lui ..I think hes a takent but I fear year 2 for him will be a lot tougher than this year even...I feel a touch of the Chris Sandow about him...hope Im wrong...

Initially I thought the team worked better with Moltzen at halfback, but then things went pretty well with Lui getting more comfortable in the spot, don't know who'd I'd personally pick there, all I know is Moltzen HAS to be in the side somewhere.

Good to have options at least.

Agreed… Tim is a future Star of the Game.

I want Lui to be halfback if available. Yes, we haven't lost a game with Moltzen at half, but as said before that stat doesn't really matter. Our key player is Benji and as we saw at the end of this year, as Lui started to control he ruck area, Benji was blowing the teams off the park.

As Watto said, Tim is a future star of the game, but ATM we have a better option than him at fullback, centre, halfback and 5/8\. If he gets the 7 jersey when Lui is fit to play in round 1, i would be very angry coz we have so much momentum with Lui at 7.

Moltzen for me is a perfect no.14 and the guy that Sheens should put on bench as utility every single game.

i can understand that HOWEVER sandow and lui are vastly different players in completely different teams

Lui is more of a ball playing half who takes a backseat to benji and farah, he is also playing a very strong team and he played sensational in the finals. he sticks to a game plan well and doesnt take a lot of risky options.

sandow is an off the cusp player who is the teams number one play maker and meant to be organising and controlling the team, he obviously isnt that type of player. sandow came into a team that had won like 2 of 15 games, there was no pressure and he just did what he wanted. Lui played the whole year in a team that was mostly at the top of the table and in big pressure games.

Lui is already a much better player then sandow.

OH Dear God…Woop first thing you got right in ages.....

Now i give up...almost..

:master: Tim MOLTZEN will develop into the games GREATEST ever RUNNING No 7....IF given time in the position..

THINK Turvey cross bred with Billy Smith...

2011- **_The Year of Moltz_...**

nope,

7\. Moltzen
6\. Marshall

i think you guys are forgetting how good Moltzen's long passing game is, let alone his support play AND his inherent dynamism with Benji.

So excited!

I like this comment - As we all know that coach sheens regularly reads the WTF. (Remember the Fitzy comments)

Yeah but Lui also has an awsome long passing game and knows WHEN to pass, just go back to that match where he held the pass up then threw it out long for Gareth Ellis!
I've seen some comments saying Moltz would be a great running halfback but thats the thing if needed so can Lui seeing as he played NYC at 5/8 and got 5/8 of the year in '09'
Lui can direct a team all around look what he just did against the dragons!! BUT can also support, like when he ran onto that pass then ducked under a few to score against the Dragons, Moltz i dont think can direct play, it's either him doing the work ie running the ball or he feeds off Marshall passes, i havn't witnessed him actually direct plays!

I won't disagree with you on your argument that he could become a killer centre, in fact i've said many times before that if we had a more organising halfback then Moltz at 3 would be great! Unfortunately Lui is NOT any more of an organising halfback than Moltz is.

But there is no doubting the fact that Timmy has a lot more to offer with the ball in hand or closer to the middle, thus it's no surprise that Sheens has used him as a 1 (not very well may I add).

Gee if we didn't have Marshall then it would be a no-brainer:
7 - Lui
6 - Moltzen

fortunately for us we have too much talent and perhaps Moltzen's superior skill and versatility will see HIM take the fall for Lui…

Tims change of pace is a million times that of Lui.

Lui is a massive liability in defence and I remember feeling insanely annoyed at his shirt grabbing.

One of the most important things uttered to me about footy… nothing beats speed and Moltz has it in abundance. Lui... must be the slowest halfback i have ever seen

he should already have been given time. he should have taken over the halfback spot when prince left

Both different styles of players, but I think the coach see Lui as the no7\. As far as defense both have their short comings, as for kicking game Lui probably has the better short kick and Moltzen a better long kicking game, passing Lui the better selective pass and Tim has the better long passing game, speed Tim far more pace, but Lui stronger in a short burst. Both would not be out of place in the no7 but my guess Sheens will give Lui first crack if his head and fitness are in the right place
