I agree as well BB.Some might call it a Sheens bashing exercise but so be it.
What i still don't understand, in the trials the halves combo was Marshal/Moltzon & fighting it out for fulback was McDonald/Gallant & it seemed to be going great.
I remember thinking finally Morris is out of the halves & with a fit Farah we might do well this season but as usual Sheens throws a curve ball at the start of the season & once again we find ourselves with an uphill battle which is climbable ATM
So a part of the slump is due to injuries but team selection has been the real issue & 'Fonz' thats your job

i dont think moltzen was ready to play half much earlier then he did, his time at fullback has given him a chance to get up to the speed of 1st grade and i feel having him play half any earlier may have done him and the tigers more harm then good. he was pretty ordinary when he came into grade in the halves at the start of his career.
im not saying that sheens is awsome or anything just i dont think moltzen playing at half all year would have worked

John Morris is currently ranked #138 in the NRL for season 2009 for TRY ASSISTS. What else is a five eigth supposed to do but distribute the ball and setup tries?
A ranking of 138 puts him behind:
Sam Thaiday (a forward)
Chris Walker (a winger)
Colin Best (a centre)
If you rank Morris with all the other players who regularly play 5/8th, he ranks last.

If anyone is deluded, it's those who think Morris is any way a 5/8th. Balmain Bug is 100% right.

Geo - your right in that there is more than one reason why we haven't made the finals over the last couple of years however Morris in the halves tops the list.

Defensively he has been good, his robustness is an asset and as he has been played over the last couple of weeks he is a huge asset to the team.

Who knows what wouldve happened with Morris somewhere else, no doubt we'd probably have gone better, but he has NO vision, consistently murdered overlaps…...calling someone deluded for just stating whaty EVERYONE knows and is NOW being proved is a tad harsh.

yes but the biggest problem was FONZIE signed up morris to be his number 7 saviour …i as many were astounded when his signing was announced,,, and FONZIE hasnt let me down ....a real number 7 would have solved all the drama we have been through ever since prince moved on....

Sheens also stuck with Collis, Halatau, Harrison, McDonnell, Farah, Marshall, Gibbs, Fulton in those 3 years...Who out of those players have kicked on.... There were games where Morris contributed more to the team performance than any of them bar Farah....
He persited with Galloway when he ran softer than Gibbs....In recent times he has stuck with Lawrence when he couldn't tackle a cold, Tuiaki when he played like Ryan, tried to turn Laurie into a footballer that can play at least 15min of FG.... I don't even have to go into Payne and turning centres into backrowers...He has stood by Payten when he should have been dropped..
He brought back Skando, blooded Ayhsford, Mataka, Dwyer, Shirnack and he seems to be showing faith in this next lot as well...
If Sheens is wrong it's been his treatment of his protoge....Benji Marshall....If he had left him at 7 in '07 as INK says who know's..Benji was defective for 2 and a half seasons yet Sheens was trying to build a team around a touch footballer.....
As for being deluded...in hindsight it was a tad harsh....apologies C_t and Balmain Bug....I don't actully think they personally are delluded at all....more the thinking that Sheens persistance with Morris in the halves was the reason the whole organisation has underperformed since....'05

Don't disagree with anything you've said there in regards to other reasons.
However, the continual selection of Morris in the halves over the past seasons has caused Sheens to move Marshall to half and Farah to half - with disastrous results. Morris is a good utility player and it's not his fault Sheens plays him out of position. But given the importance of a halves pairing in making the finals, I absolutely think is the primary reason we haven't

Morris playing in the halves is not the only reason we've struggled but it is a HUGE reason.

I'd also like to know why it took so long to get a fullback in the #1, a five-eighth in the #6 and a halfback in the #7\. Even ignoring the actual players, just people in their correct positions. It's not exactly rocket science.

IN SHEENS WE TRUST, well i do anyway cause im not at training every week and ive taken less breaths in my life then players Sheens has coached, if anyone knows what the best combo's are and when to play them its him.

The best news I heard was that Morris is no longer a Tiger. The guy should be shoved back to park football for the rest of the year. Is probably the worst buy the the Tigers have ever made (Wests Tigers that is). I think Sheens is one of the best coachs out there. All these people saying to ditch him. Who do we replace him with? Its all well and good to want to throw him about, but i havent heard many options to replace him. Bring back Junior (Legend player crap coach) or Lamb (I will leave the club if that happened). I think we are forgetting what type of club we were before Sheens, no players wanted to come anywhere near us, we were a joke in the players eyes, in the corporates eyes and pretty much everyones eyes. We now have respect and players look at us as an option not for laughter.
