I get the impression after reading a post that the Chairman allegedly stated that he was the one that chased Sheens there is more to this ..the statement from Pascoe that Sheens has no definitive roll also clouds the issue . Could there be a coaching change for next season with Sheens coming in with in the month ..just throwing it out there .

Where did you read that?

Someone on here posted that they ran into Lee (at Magic Round or something if I remember) a few days ago. Not sure what thread but might've been this one.

I saw that post, he didn't say he was the one that chased him. I thought he said something along the lines of that us something he assisted with?

Yeah it was something like that

So a case of someone adding 2 and 2 together and coming up 463278, which is a pretty common theme on here.

I see quite a few posters linking Sheens with the club as a means of maybe replacing Madge as the results seem to show that Madge cant coach....
In my opinion if that happens it puts the club back to the dark days of sacking a coach because of poor performance...Where did it get us before ? we were criticised no end,the WTs blame coaching instead of the real problem, that being the roster and favouring certain players...
Madge has put a stop to the boys club,Hartigan and Madge have been recruiting well, this squad is young mixed with experience...it takes a while and some pain before the best results are found...
The club would look really bad if they bought Tim back just to sack Madge, especially after extending him and the great work he has done with the pathways and giving young guys a chance in the NRL..
Just my thoughts on the topic...

side note after yesterdays performance....Walters was the best pick for Mbye and he has been out for quite a while with injury...I couldnt put the loss squarely on him...lots of mistakes and injuries as well as the absolutely poor refereeing didnt do us any favours...
The new rules seem to be a farce...they are open to refs bias big time PVL has to be taken to account for some of these desperate and poor decisions made by refs...I clearly understand player safety but some of the decisions are bewildering....

I like how Madge has lost touch with the modern game exchanged for someone who last coached in the NRL in 2012 has never coached under the new rules and hasn't even had a full-time gig in the ESL since 2019..

Sheenius..

Sheenius..

Sheens never lost touch

He was head coach in the ESL for a total of 85 games in 8 seasons...resigning from both Hull and Widnes before end of season

As a Coaching director or whatever you want to call it is a smart move...

So what TT poor performances by coaches should be rewarded by not performance managing him?

If sacking him is so repugnant, move him sideways to special projects and bring in Morris as head coach with guidance from Sheens.

Yeah, your opinion is viable we all have different views..Mine was more so that we would go back to the dark days and not seem to be going forward with the culture change that has been spoken about..

Morris could work with Sheens, but I would be more inclined to put Morris as an assistant and see if he and Madge could work together.

If we create a situation whereby our head coach is being "guided" by a 70yo who hasnt coached in the NRL for nearly 10years, we are dead and at best in the wilderness for another 10years.

Madge will not put up with it, and I hear many say, "great, get rid of him.." but what good coach would agree to come and coach under those circumstances? A nuffie like Morris maybe, is that what will drags us up?

This club needs an experienced coach, a rookie would be a terrible decision.

Over thinking this.

Sheens back in Australia hookong up with one of his old clubs as a consultant and heavyweight in the statesman/ Recruitment area.

This is still the Madge and Hartigan show.

I believe Sheens' influence on the players, especially the younger ones, will be noticeable. His football was always built around positivity, which cannot always be said about Maguire's coaching.

I don't recall us all being positive all the time about his coaching. Finals 3/10 years. Better than any other coach here, granted and of course a wonderful season in 2005, but that is still not a great record in the great scheme of things. Hasler got punted for missing the finals once in 6 seasons at the Bulldogs, and they made the GF twice, and week 3 of the finals a further two times on top of that.
