Tim Sheens

I guess only supercoach Bennett could have extracted a win against Souths, especially when we had more players wearing twenty-something on their back than anything 1-13\. Injuries have killed us from game one.

I expect if I ring the WT office tomorrow, then they will confirm a heap of coaching applications from members of this forum who apparently could do better.

From where I sat today, the south fans were dirty on their team because the score should have been much higher. They had all the refs calls, all the 50-50's, the rub of the green all day, and they played a team massacred with injuries and filled with young kids, park footballers and a few regulars. Whilst they never looked like losing, it was only the heart and effort from our guys that stopped a 60 nil whitewash.

I guess with another coach though, all the injured players would have miraculously recovered today and played, and there wouldnt have been any injuries against the cowboys, and Lote wouldnt have a busted arm, and Tedesco would be right, and Moltzen would be fit, and Gareth wouldnt have missed all them games etc etc etc.

So naive…"Oh well at least it was only a 30 point flogging, couldve been 60 eh....phew...thatd be rooolllly embarrasing!"

If you are going to quote someone, at least be correct. I didn't say that, nor did I say I was happy we got beat whether by 2, 10 or 30.

Having a differing opinion doesn't make someone a dope. Unfortunately some in here can't believe others don't blindly agree.

I have no agenda. I have no blind allegiance. What I do have Is a history, if you bothered to look, of agreeing that perhaps another coach such as Anderson might just be what we need. What I won't do is lay total blame on Sheens when some things, like significant injuries are beyond his control.

The problem comes down to Sheens and Benji.

We have a game plan that requires everyone to allow for Benji and be ready for whatever, it is not the way to really win football games. He is a ball runner and occasional attacking kicker and he is good when allowed to fulfill that role exclusively. It is like we have to try and justify the price tag with seniority and control.

Players that drop down to NSW Cup immediately react to the simpler and more structured brand of play.

IMHO we need a coach who will dictate the game plan and stop allowing players to run the show. Almost any other coach in the NRL and Benji would have seen some reserve grade at some point over the last 6 seasons but he never has any fear of being dropped. It has gotten to the point where he almost threw away a game at CSS with a pass across the try line that was almost intercepted and rather than admonishment it was the butt of internal jokes.

We could go on to a miracle run and win the Premiership and I would still want change at the top

Good for you.
Your point of members here flooding the club with coaching applications is also very mature and rational as you like to portray yourself.

"Supercoach" John Lang was coach of injury ravaged Souths in R10 last season & led Tigers 27 nil at halftime!
Souths went on to win 29-18\.

I think Steve Folkes should get a mention.
Tim Sheens was scare of him ….. He could teach them to tackle.

Any of them just not sheens!!!

I like Taylor's approach to defence and he would help with 5th tackle plays which at the moment are atrocious!

If we have the same coach next year we will get the same results.

Sheens won us a premiership but things have turned stale

Daniel Anderson would be my choice or even Stephen Folkes.

x2 I just wish someone out there in NRL world could publicly start to ask questions of Sheens' coaching - the same way they always do with Smith, Stuart and now Kearney. He gets off scot free in the media all the bloody time, yet the team continues to under-perform week in, week out.

That irks me too,I have written to RLW,the tele and the club, all to no avail, but I wish I knew the answer to the free ride the great one gets. :smiling_imp:

get benji away from the 7 and any duties related to that. he never was, is or will be a top flight half back no matter how hard sheens tries.

Boy oh boy, time to get those rose coloured glasses off my friend. Shocking performance. The team had no chance when the great coach changed the world's best hooker to halfback.

It's not that he has not done this stupid thing before. It did not work then and it did not work today. It will never work.

When a coach continues with crazy selections with nil result, he must go. If any of the players kick up a stink about it, then they can go as well. I am sick to death of the team selections and the coach and the gutless Board.

It is pretty obvious that Sheen's does not have a lot of time for any other halfbacks in the club. We saw him experiment with Farah and Marshall at no 7 a few years ago and it was a absolute failure then as it was today. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but surely it would have been better to have Farah at 9, Humble at 7, Marshall at 6, Ryan at 3 and Reddy at 1 and use Moseda as a utility off the bench, a fairly simple rearrangement I would have thought but I not getting $500,000 a year to coach. Having Farah play at first receiver instead of dummy half negates our attack and does not get our forwards going forward, instead he was just used to pass the ball to Marshall who then well for most part ran sideways. Warren Ryan once said something that has stood in my mind when he was commentating a Canterbury game when Kimmorley was there No 7, he said Kimmorley's game is strangling this team and I am afraid it is the same at the moment with Marshall and number 7.

Did you see Miller play today? I think he had few options other than Farah

Sheens isn't the ones missing the tackles, but he's the one playing one of the world's best 5/8's at halfback, the country's second best hooker at halfback, and naming a squad with 3 hookers. He's also the one not making players accountable for poor performances. Ultimately, he's responsible for motivating the players to perform at their best, and if he's content with performances like that from nuffies like Blair and Iosefa then he's not the right guy to coach our club.

Tim Sheens. He's on our team. He wants what we want. And you want me to hate him for that? Forget about it! His heart is in the right place. But that's about it. Why is Tim so selfish? Why won't he let go? I thought he loves Benji.

What's the situation with Bradford Bulls and their coach Mick Potter? They went bankrupt and had to let him and their coaching staff go, but he said he'd finish out the season with them for no pay. I'd have him over Sheens. Ultimately I'd love to have Daniel Anderson here, but I think he's comfortable in his role at ABC Radio

when the going gets tough,we crawl into our shell with selections that have proven to be failures.

i'm sick of it.
sheens is slowly draining the passion out of me.

please leave before it is all gone.

He was named as a possible replacement at Parramatta so you'd assume he's available. I think he'd be a good option. He'd brig fresh ideas and new strategies from overseas that haven't been seen or used in the nrl before.

As a tactician , sheens is the best coach in the world.
As a team selector, he is the worst in the universe.
As a team motivator, maybe a bit of hit and miss.

If we're asking for his head, fine, but I want to move forward no back. I will not accept anyone in his place.

Mick potter : no NRL experience
Jason Taylor : absolute failure
Daniel Anderson : not better than sheens

I would've taken stuart, because he is so intense and can attract players to the club.

So who's left, i don't know but we should never have let steve Folkes go

I don't rate Stuart :astonished: .
Craig Bellamy available in 2014\. Sheens should step aside after 2013 & let his mate take over.
Pre-season with Bellamy Tiger players won't know what hit them 😱pen_mouth:
