Tim Sheens

As a tactician , sheens is the best coach in the world.
As a team selector, he is the worst in the universe.
As a team motivator, maybe a bit of hit and miss.

If we're asking for his head, fine, but I want to move forward no back. I will not accept anyone in his place.

Mick potter : no NRL experience
Jason Taylor : absolute failure
Daniel Anderson : not better than sheens

I would've taken stuart, because he is so intense and can attract players to the club.

So who's left, i don't know but we should never have let steve Folkes go

Michael Maguire had no NRL experience and has turned the Bunnies on their heads

A good coach is a good coach whether he is in the ESL or the NRL or the QRL

Michael Maguire had no NRL experience…

Daniel Anderson would be my pick.

I'm interested to see how Brad Arthur goes in charge of Parramatta. I think he'd be similar to Maguire. Had a good record with the 20s and served the same apprenticeship under Bellamy that Maguire did. Here's hoping the eels don't scar him.

I know he is not popular on the Forum , but I have always been a fan of Matt Elliott Just like his attitude I guess

I'd be surprised if he's not coaching the Roosters within the next 2 years.

Wayne Pearce was a shocker, Terry Lamb well let's not go there, maybe we should stay clear of former players. what do you people think???

Great players make lousy coaches. I never heard of Bennett or Bellamy when they were playing, and it shows!

Daniel Anderson is a great coach and has a great footy mind. He's been successful in the NRL and in the UK. Anyone who can take Parramatta to the grand final must be doing something right! Hahaha. But in all seriousness, even listening to him on the ABC you can just tell he knows the game so well. I'd take him in a heartbeat. Parra were absolutely stupid to let him go. They sacked him at the end of 2010 for missing the finals the year after the 2009 GF. We go 4 years of no finals after our GF and Sheens gets a 3-year extension. GO FIGURE?!

I don't rate Stuart at all. He was terrible at Cronulla. His NRL record is not great.

One other thing that really annoys me about Sheens is that he's untouched by the media. There's never any pressure on him. As I mentioned before, Anderson was booted from Parra for not making the finals in 2010, yet Sheens is rewarded with a 3-year extension for not making the finals for 4 years.

So that lead me to think about our pre-season favouritism. Having been premiership favourites, should we miss the finals, do you think the media and/or the club will then start asking questions about his future? I think (HOPE!) it will play a part

I don't rate Stuart :astonished: .
Craig Bellamy available in 2014\. Sheens should step aside after 2013 & let his mate take over.
Pre-season with Bellamy Tiger players won't know what hit them 😱pen_mouth:

Bellamy had an opportunity to Coach our team and gave it away as we were a basket case! Why give him another shot now that someone else has laid the foundations.

I would accept:

Steve Kearney - I think he still has a lot to offer
Steve Folkes
Nathan Brown
Matt Elliott

I also have time for Daniel Anderson, but he seems to leave the teams in a pretty poor place once the success is gone. I also like Graham Murray and cannot understand why he kept getting the boot when he was so successful at the Roosters and Cowboys.

Bennett played for Australia, Fulton is an immortal, and Gus was the youngest captain at the time.
kinda kills your theory.

But had you have said great players are not always the best coaches or you dont have to be a great player to be a great coach id agree.

What's the situation with Bradford Bulls and their coach Mick Potter? They went bankrupt and had to let him and their coaching staff go, but he said he'd finish out the season with them for no pay. I'd have him over Sheens. Ultimately I'd love to have Daniel Anderson here, but I think he's comfortable in his role at ABC Radio

ABC radio? I think you mean to say defensive coach of the St Josephs College Hunters Hill 1st XV rugby union team

He's also a presenter on ABC Grandstand

Steve Folkes is a brilliant coach and would be great here.

If he had a full off-season with the boys and a full season as head coach, he'd do the same thing here as Hasler has done with the Bulldogs.

We have the cattle. We need someone new running the team.

Make Sheens coaching director and let Folkes coach the side.

Sheens would also make a brilliant Origin coach for NSW. He could be coaching director here and coach Australia and NSW.

Sheens needs to leave the club. I don't reckon he'd settle for a back seat position. He'd suit a club like Canberra or the Roosters.

The QRL would never allow the NSW Coach to be the Australian Coach!

The QRL can have 3 selectors to NSW's 2 and that would even everything up.

Besides it'd be beyond sheens own madness not to pick queenslanders.

Will be interesting to see Jason Taylor's column tomorrow in SMH - he's my smokey to replace sheens.
