Tim Simona - Deregistered

The thing is, someone bigger was benefiting. The pawn takes the fall deservedly, but what about the bigger fish?

Dumb dumb just dumb. The man always spoke about how his NRL contract helped his family and how he was providing for them. To do something like this is just plain stupid and really brings into question whether others were involved or he was betting on other matches he was not apart of.

Sick of the negative media we seem to get 24/7 but when crap like this pops up on the regular, it's almost deserved. Good riddance, and tbh, Lovett should go too.

Report saying Lovett suspended for opening 2 games of the season. His contract won't be ripped up because first offence and local junior.

Cap issues solved

Saves the Tigers from having to shop him around but geez, what a douchebag.

Ummm I am 95% sure he was never being shopped around for cap issues as the club(although not widely_ and nrl would have known about this for a while - I'd say that it was a smokescreen to hide the investigation and others have just put 2 nd 2 together. It means the club could avoid lining him up for too miuch and also have the him not be a key focus for the coaches as far as plays etc go when the CEO perhaps new it was coming having worked with the NRL or been informed

I don't have an issue if he hasn't bet on WT's game even if he has had inside info

People do it all the time across every sport , I have received info on horses before

But if he has bet against the WT's , he is screwed

Our backline for 2017:

1\. Teddy
2\. Suli
3\. Kev
4\. Idris
5\. Nofo

I think you might find Chee-Kam will get a run in the centres.

A good step by the NRL would be to get rid of all betting advertising. That's a complete no brainer. It's kind of ironic that a player has an issue with the very product they promote.

I know, I know….there's no issue with things in moderation, but some might say the same about booze, smokes or whatever.

Lets just remember nothing is proven yet and Simona has the right to respond to the allegations until a final determination is made…

Seems out of character and pretty dumb given the other alleged betting allegations from last year which appears to be swept under the carpet..

The NRL are so funded by gambling institutions I'm surprised their announcement wasn't bought to us by sportsbet...

What an absolute idiot. Like others have said it all makes sense.
Rules are rules and if your dumb enough to risk a Contract on placings bet? Well come to the work force and join all the other battlers out there.

Praying won't help you here Timmy.

I'm shocked out of all people never would have thought him.

Just speculating , but it would not surpise me if it were a minor $20 bet or something, and he is being made a scapegoat after all the Foran dramas.

What an incredible disappointment.
This guy had talent and speed to burn. What has happened here?
There is a large moral issue to be answered about betting in sport and it is a social evil. I cringe every time I saw someone provide the odds about a game before kick off and during half time. I am not a betting person, but I do not condone it either; horse for course as they say. It has got in too deep into peoples lives.

does this mean that he had bet on a tigers game or are they not allowed to bet on any game?

No NRL contracted player is allowed to bet on anything relating to the NRL.
