And if he's losing money elsewhere why bother risking your career for a payoff off a few grand on bets that were no sure things? More details to come surely.

To be accurate, the article is only talking about bets on NRL. Who knows what he was betting on the ponies or other sports.
@ said:I appreciate that Ink but $600 is hardly an addiction. He must be in a hole elsewhere. As you say addicts have no logic but even by those standards it's very odd based on what's been revealed so far. It's like having a $600 a year coke habit and funding it by stealing office supplies even though you're on good money. I can only think maybe he thought he was being clever and this was some ego thing.
@ said:I hope it clears up some cap space to get someone like Copley.
@ said:The more I ready about this, the more I get annoyed with the moral sanctimony of Todd Greenberg. The guy who had a young woman come to him to say a player at his club had beaten her and then he failed to report it to the police.
Hypocrite thy name is Todd.

Absolutely. You can be sure Greenberg couldn't give a toss about whatever immoral things NRL players do, as long as he keeps his job and his huge paycheck. I'd say if people dug around enough they could find some muck around Toddy boy, he hardly seems like the most honest and trustworthy bloke IMO.

F2B does you post escape the libel laws?
@ said:Pure conjecture, but there are scenarios where he could have agreed to do this for someone else's benefit if he was in debited to them because of his addiction. His bets could have been to stop him from changing his mind, to force him to have some skin in the game.
Who knows though.

What about posts on Simona, do they escape the libel laws? Simona has the same rights as Greenberg.
@ said:Meanwhile in other NRL news Foran cleared and registered to return to the NRL after ticking all the NRL's psychical assessment boxes and showing remorse for past actions …
Todd said..
@ said:"Based on the evidence we have identified it is **very hard** to imagine that Tim Simona will be registered with the NRL at any time in the future," Mr Greenberg said.
…but not impossible?
Todd left the door ajar ever so slightly
