@ said:Simona deserves what he has received if Jaya's FB post is any indication. It probably just scratches the surface. She has deleted it though so out of respect to her wishes I won't post specifics.
Why mention it then?

@ said:So he has a cocaine addiction now too?
Light on details there…. Tame I guess when looking at the big picture but I wouldn't be surprised rothfield just threw that in for extra tang
@ said:@ said:@ said:@ said:While in general terms bashing your missus is deplorable, far worse than throwing a footy match to win yourself a few bucks, unfortunately a player beating their missus up does not cheapen the contest between two teams and has no real impact on how a game is played out. The product itself is directly threatened by players betting on games.
But you're suggesting Simona fixed, which the NRL accepts he didnt.
The betting was stupid but harmless. A 1 to 2 year ban for that should be sufficient. 12 weeks for the drugs, based on the Barba example and another 1 year for the charity stuff.
2-3 years max in total IMO.
Jaya: Why you choosing that guy (Quinlan) to score first?
Simona: I’m marking him lol. If I let him.
Jaya: What does that mean? Oh he will be opposite you?
Simona: Yes.
JayaOhhhhh.
Simona: You think.
Jaya: Hmmm dangerous.
Simona: Yep.
Jaya: This is legit match-fixing now.

Mate the NRL has accepted he didnt fix. His punishment should be based on the findings at to his conduct, not some test message that may or may not be construed as a joke.
Simona didnt match up on Quinlan.
Simona was always a first class goose but he is being made a scapegoat for wide cultural problems in the NRL, not the the least of which the NRL's heavy reliance on gambling revenue.
@ said:He must of hid all this very well from his team mates..
I did like the tele's Part 3 grab I've seen on FB…Get my boobs done or I'll tell the NRL...

And yet the NRL and presumably every media outlet with a passing interest in the NRL has pored over every one of the games he bet on and has not been able to identify a single incident where he deliberately intervened to win a bet. So we're left with a few possibilities.
He's a great actor and managed to conceal his attempts at sabotage;
he got paranoid on game day and couldn't go through with it;
he was unlucky in that his deliberate attempts to bet on direct opponents was prevented by late positional switches;
he has no idea who he is supposed to be marking;
he forgot he was betting on the games by the time the game started.
None of them are particularly convincing really.
You're right.
There are really only 2 options.
He is the dumbest guy ever to walk the earth.
Or
There is more to it.
@ said:@ said:Does anyone actually believe he has a gambling addiction? I don't see any evidence. Just an opportunist who wanted to make some easy money.. Was obviously well thought out. Glad this saga is over now and our team might realise it's full potential without being held back by someone potentially helping our opposition every week.
Mate…if you cannot see the evidence i dunno what youre looking at?
He wanted to make easy money?
He was earning 6 figure sums....hed be getting 3 and maybe 4 figure sums for the jerseys.
Insane? yep.
Not normal? yep
Deception, lying, stealing, cheating, embezzlement, fraud....its all the hallmarks of a gambling addict.
This is insane behaviour, the denial of an addict is that for a while he sees nothing wrong with what hes doing....that probably passed him some time ago
Hes hit rock bottom now...I hope he gets the help he needs...fmd Matt Lodge is.

Exactly my point Geo
If you bet hard , you bet hard all the time , like any addiction you don't go softly softly , sometimes and all out the next
Something doesn't add up , probably another account we don't know about ….yet

Well we do know cause Simona has admitted to exactly that…

The NRL investigation sees no correlation with match-fixing on the bets Simona placed...
