Tim Simona

He's had a very average season this year. There can be no denying it. He has talent and is a solid all around player, but is far from a game breaker or elite player.

7 tries. 1 try assist.

His poorest season yet in the NRL. Another player who's overpaid.

Back line for 2017

James Tedesco (24 years old when season 2017 starts)
Tim Simona (25 years old)
Michael Chee Kam (25 years old when season 2017 starts)
Kevin Naiqama (28 years old when season 2017 starts)
David Nofoaluma (23 years old)

Simona can chime in with his pace and MCK gives us some size in the back line and appears to have some pace and lateral movement to make a go at it.

Most of the backline in 2017 are mid 20's and 3 to 4 seasons of NRL so experience wise we should be good.

Right side defence needs to improve over off season. Both Kevin and David appear to be good one on one defenders.

Rankin back up or utility off the bench

Your right we tend to attack down the other side,so it stands to reason his scoring will be lower than the guys who play on the other side. Not the best in the NRL, but would get a start in a lot of other teams

The kick was terrible and if we lost the game it would have been unforgivable.

However other then that he was pretty good and to me is a excellent first grade center. Honestly if Simona played at a name team like the dogs he would be a NZ regular

isnt he samoan?

He is - but why should that stop him from playing for any country or any sport that he may dream about - oh hang on somebody has already done that.

He is a solid first grader as many have said and it's true that he's generally starved of legitimate attacking opportunities in space where hecan use his footwork and fend. I also agree that he needs to treat possession with a bit more respect.

Tim is a good player, it was a bad move kicking on the first but he and JAC would have discussed that. That kind of move can payoff on a change over early in the set when the full back is up in the line. But it is a low percentage play and was probably at the wrong time in the context of the game. If we are up by 20 heck why not.

But i wouldn't sack him for that.

If it had of worked we would be calling him a genius!

SImona is too good player to be wasted on the wing. The issue is that he does not get enough quality balls, as our attack is 80% on the right wing. :bash

On the contrary I think he is wasted as a centre. I'd love to see him on wing bringing back kick returns. Look at any Simons highlight package. His brightest moments have been on the wing getting on the outside of his man. As a centre he has one move, the flick pass and we saw how well that turned out today.

Put him back on the wing where he is best please!

lol

lets get rid of every player who played crap at least once in their career and then sign a squad full of players who have never once played crap.

Please name your 25 man squad of current players who have never once had a bad game.

He's a keeper IMO. If for no other reason than we wouldn't be able to afford a replacement who'd be a marked improvement.

He does some really good things and has ability but needs a swift kick to pull him into line and get the garbage out of his game that's crept in.

And getting some more decent ball to him would be good - like Moses gives to Kevvie etc on the RHS.

I reckon that with a bit of decent ball he would kill it on the wing, and to think, we could of had him outside of Brad Takairangi.
