Time for Kiama?

Anyone else reckon we should head up to Kiama during the bye-round so we can have a bit of a build up for the Broncos at Suncorp after beating Penrith (i hope…)?

We should get Braith back that week, hopefully Ayshford too and maybe try to work Groat into the side then as well.

Thoughts?

why not … Work them hard with little rest i say and send sheens down too, Potter is too soft on the boys
Time to get the whip out and get it cracking to get results

Sheens would not mollycoddle this team anywhere to the extent that Potter has. Potter seems to be focused on the easy soft solutions.

You have to give potter a chance …I have always thought over the years its the players not the coach and nothing I have seen this year changes my thoughts.

I think our problems are much worse then a trip to kiama would fix.Its all attitude that needs to be sorted out

Care to elaborate?

One example - A common theme in this forum this season has been how some players are lazy but are selected every week. Potter takes the soft option of leaving these players in the team each and every week. This is Potter's no sweat option. It however is the sweat option for players that have to carry the non-achievers every week. A coach like Sheens used the Kiama trip for players to open their thoughts, good or bad, about the team. Looking at Farah at the end of the Cronulla I am sure that he would have a lot to say in this regard and I am sure that a lot of other players also would if they were encouraged by their coach to do so.

Maybe they should go. It would be productive if they forgot a player or 2 down there like Blair for example. In all honesty it wouldn't be a bad thing they are not playing as a team. The time may be good for some soul searching!!!

Or maybe he doesn't want to have the reserve grade team playing NRL plus farah, woods, teddy and koro, Newtown?

Inexperience will be just as bad as laziness as we saw with Koro. Imagine a team full of people like him, while i love him and think he's amazing a team MUST have a balance of youth and experience. Unfortunately injury has prevented Potter from simply dropping people like Blair straight away and promoting the young guns since half the team is already full of younguns who've gotta fill in positions we might not need filled in like prop with galloway, halfback with braith, centre with ayshford etc.

I wouldn't be waiting for a trip to Kiama I would be doing that this week at Concord…..players giving their thoughts, good or bad, about the team and themselves.

I'm with Ink, how do you know this? Or is it merely an assumption?

The fact that we have had yearly scheduled trips to re-focus over the past few seasons is laughable

Unless we are going to Kiama to unearth some playing talent ,I can't see the use to be honest

Maybe offer a trip to Kiama if they win a game

I know this isn't the right attitude ,but I'll be happy if we can keep it under a 20 point loss , especially if Souths play at the same level they have so far this season

I think Souths might have a big drop off this week 'especially seeing they have had to lift big time the last 2 weeks v Brisbane and Manly

Can remember the game in 2011 when they had 10 regulars missing and we were up 30-16 and they ran us down Farrell got a hattrick on debut

Maybe bring either Nofa or Mr T in and lightning might strike twice

Its bloody hard to try and be optimistic at the moment
