Time for the Moltz to return

I would like to pose a question; How do people compare Moltzen with Lawrence?

Lawrence has had every chance since his injury and even though he has not impressed in any game he has been selected, which is every game he been uninjured, he has impressed. Moltzen had a very serious injury just as catastrophic battled bravely though painful rehabilitation and is now starting to get into his stride. However most people are critical and continue to put him down. Last weekend Moltzen scored a try playing at centre and not his favourite position at 5/8.

It also seems ironic that some are not willing to try Moltzen in first grade yet call for Moses to be given continually chances in first grade even though he has shown very little in six rounds this season.

Lawrence is Reg Gasnier compared to Moltzen's performance at centre last week in NSW Cup a level that is 10 times below the NRL Kity Glymin gave him a bath…

The Try he scored was basically diving on a kick placed on a platter for him...

I think we can give Molz a chance, just to see if he has improved and may help us,I don't think it could hurt….Teddy came back from a terrible injury and we all gave him a chance..just saying..

Id give Moltz a chance…every player in the squad deserves and will get their chances.

He has some fine attributes to his game....unfortunately the negatives are very very hard to forget

Re: Moltzen to replace Lawrence
There are quite a few players who shall be considered before Moltzen:
Akuaola, Fine (the best NSW cup center 2014) , Hoeter etc.

Re: Moltzen to replace Moses
If we want to replace Moses for his kicking game, Molzen is certainly not the answer.

IMHO, the worst value for money at WT are:
1\. Lawrence
2\. Moltzen

Both unfortunately suffered from repeated injuries, however, while recognizing their
character/willpower they are ATM way below NRL standard :frowning:

Go Tigers :sign:

If you think the best way for Moses to improve is to drop him you've got no idea. A move like that can kill a players confidence, especially when they're really young. I continue to believe that Moses is not involved due to tactical decisions by JT and not of his own choosing. Last year he was mvoing across the park, and you can see in broken play that he loves being around the ball but he's parked out on the right now just waiting. Is it his fault or the game plans fault?

Either way, Moltzen is not the answer. He scored his first try in NSW Cup last week, make him set that comp on fire if he wants his spot back.

Moses not impressive in 6 rounds?

Moltzen has not impressed me in 6 years!!!

Disappointed not seeing the Moltz on the team sheet this week, but I say the return is imminent, another couple of games for Mr Moses and the call will go out!

I've never been a big fan of Tim Moltzen. Although he had some absolute blinders, in general I found him almost as frustrating as Benji. That said, he has worked very hard to come back from injury and deserves a chance if he can earn a place over other contenders. I wish him all the best.

Are you talking about when he was playing fullback, a position he hated, or 5/8 which was his favourite position? Think of the tries he has scored halfback grubber kick to the line. He would have a picnic with Brooks' kicks.

Quote Newtown: "Think of the tries he has scored halfback grubber kick to the line. He would have a picnic with Brooks' kicks."
That's true.

cattivo,I really would like Moltzen to get a crack at 5/8 and see how well he plays the position,Drinkwater would also play well and has a great kicking game, albeit apparently he is an out and out halfback….this early in the season either one can provide some experience to either one of the young guns....only my opinion and don't want to cause any grief....

I can't see Brooks being dropped and Moses only to give Moltz or Quadja a go....

Well with Moses way out of his depth I think it is time for the return of the Moltz , time to earn your money Tim .No need for a world beater at 5/8 just a competent mature player, hopefully Friday night.

God you're brave , saying that around here.
Truthful , but brave!! Lol

What is there to lose seriously? Why not give him a go?
It's not as if we need to win next week to make the semi's. Might surprise some, it's been that long since his played 1st grade.
Players need to know that they will be dropped for under performing performances, wasn't that what we were crying out for last year?

You are right , it was.
Consider the scenario though, if Moltz ( or anyone for that matter) did come up and play well, some interesting problems might arise.
Does he then stay there ? which would mean that that a lot of people Might have to say that they were wrong.

I was one of the ones who said last year that Austen should go , as he wasn't prepared to stay and fight for the position. I'm now glad for him , that he did go , as it seems no matter how the halves perform, they are cemented in those positions

Leave our halves as they are, you guys want success so fast, it doesn't work like that. Success is basically like a sling shot, you go backwards which is the stage we are currently in, you then let go and move forward, success comes with time not overnight. Moses himself as said it will take time to gel, there are signs but they just aren't there yet.

Sums it up really. But people on the forum want instant success. Patience is something SOME on here just don't have. We have the best young halves in the comp but people judge the 20 year olds on a dozen first grade games.

I'm suprised people comparing Bird to Moses. Bird has had instant impact but long term wise Moses is a much more complete footballer.

No offence intended , as I'm just not sure, but is that last sentence intended as sarcasm. It surely can't be a genuine appraisal of those two players.

With regards to players which are being paid a reasonable share of the Cap money Wests Tigers seem to have a policy to never drop these players irrespective of their form, viz Chris Lawrence. Looks like the same applies to Moses.

A lot of good young footballers get dropped somewhere in their careers, and most don't drop their bundles because of it. The ones that knuckle down and put the effort into it are the ones that you want in your club.
If Moses ( or Brooke) were to get dropped, it's not completely their fault, as others made the judgement that they were ready for First Grade . And just maybe they were a bit premature.
Meanwhile I'll keep hoping that I'm wrong and they'll come good, and we end up with a good pair of halves, but I'm sure of one thing if this were a lot of clubs in the NRL . They both would be in the reserves by now, not as punishment, but to learn their game.

Moltzen or Drinkwater? Who's the better choice to replace Moses?

_Posted using RoarFEED 4.2.0_

I'd promote Drinkwater ahead of Moltzen, but only in the event of injury to Moses.
