Time for Woods to Step up also.

We now know in his last interview he pretty much said he would not re-sign if JT is going to be coach for the next 3 years. Now that JT is gone he can step up by signing the contract the tigers have in front of him and talking the club up. Would not be suprised one little bit if new coach makes Elijah taylor or Tedesco captain.

That is absolutely not what he said, don't misrepresent his comments.

Thats exactly what he meant and if you dont think so then your living in la la land.

Pascoe in one of the newspaper articles stated that even though a new coach hadn't been appointed, he didn't believe it would prevent the process moving forward in terms of contracts. Either Isaac Moses has been informed of a new appointment or the players didn't want to play for JT (or both).

We'll know soon enough how they felt about JT if they all start resigning.

Woodsy really needs to stand up and show some leadership right now. If he did have a problem with jt then there was no hope for the team at all! If captain and coach aren't on the same page it just cant work.

Well they weren't going to re-sign with him there so atleast now we have half a chance.

Time to cut the hair, trim the beard.
Show some leadership. The cool laidback hippie dude is old hat.
Show some mongrel.

Be great if he did but I doubt if he will. Be good if the incoming coach told him to do it tho. But the mongrel has to come back in our pack and it starts with you Aaron.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to have co captains at least….. However if Cleary was too come in and make Elijah captain that probably wouldn't sit well with me at least.

No he did not say that but he helped dig Taylors grave a bit quicker

I said as soon as that interview was done taylor would be gone soon.

Had the opportunity to support him and did not. Was telling.

That is total BS, sorry. You think you know footballers from the tidbits they put out in the media, even from the things they don't say, you fill in the gaps.

Woods said of course he would want to know who the coach was in 2018\. 99% of players would say that.

Just look at the Farah-Potter incident to see what happens when you tell someone what you REALLY think and it becomes public. Footballers are taught better than that, trained better than that.

He had the opportunity to support JT 100% and he danced around it.

If you can't see that your dreaming.

And look what happened next (yes its called filling in the gaps)….

Agree Eddie. Players are renowned for being cliche and towing the line, Woods did the exact opposite. You would have expected something along the lines of "yeah we're happy with JT's direction and it's just about working out a deal that's right for both parties…" yada yada yada. He didn't.

The silence was deafening.

Name one other captian that publicly admits

"we took it easy on an opposition player out of respect"

Absolute disgrace, that sums up our mentality perfectly

You don't see opposition clubs taking it easy on our sub par playing group

I reckon the last time I saw a West Tigers captain lead from the front was Robbie V Cowboy hooker

Exactly.

I said on that night Taylor is in trouble. Got little support from his captain.

This isn't A Woman's Day, we don't go around assuming what people mean with words they didn't utter. Stop being such a drama queen.

Makes me chuckle a bit threads llke these. Woods has stepped up for years at this club. The fact that he hasnt already signed elsewhere is astonishing to me.
Why he would continue to engage with the management astounds me and speaks volumes about him.His game might be a bit off at the moment - do you really need to wonder why?
Rubbish coach hell bent on vendettas ,antiquated facilities , constant dramas, fans that are frustrated and turn on you at the blink of an eye; even his hair style is fair game, a below par roster. Woodsie doesnt need to step up he will be fine - could get a contract at any number of clubs - its about time the club stepped up and his reluctance to sign sends a clear message. In his position who wouldnt do the same?

Tend to agree. And I actually think he's been playing pretty well. It's extremely noticeable when he's not on the field.

Agree x 2\. How much more do some people expect Woods to do?? I'm not religious at all but I think Woods needs St. Jude on his side right about now; St. Jude - Patron Saint of Hope and impossible causes.
