Time to move on boys and girls

Ok, I think it is time to move on now and close all the threads referring to the 'fab four' (or three now). Three of them have made their decisions and are moving on. Teddy we will miss the most, the reason he is leaving was made most obvious after last nights origin game, he no longer had confidence that the tigers could offer him a team in the future that would provide him a platform to stardom. He excelled behind a dominant pack, good luck to him after this year, the job at hand now is to find a replacement. Mitchell Moses basically left for the same reason, but did it with less class. He too, will be more comfortable behind a dominant pack, that is to say that parra can remain dominant over the next couple of years, otherwise it will be back to rocks and diamonds for him. As for woodsy, he just wanted to play with his mate, he will toil all day for you, but he is not the kind of prop that will win a premiership for you. All three decided they could not wait any longer for a tiger resurgence. Time will tell whether they made the right decision, but I think it is time to close the chapter now and get on with the rebuild. Let's judge them game by game while they are still playing for us, as always have, but leave behind the jilted lover act and concentrate on the players that want to be here with us for the rebuild. They deserve our support and recognition, improvement is on the way, it's about time we had some positivity back into this forum, the players we acquire or develop over the next two years may well be just as good if not better than the ones that have moved on.

Well said. Sadly some people just cant move on.

cant really move on..

even now if i see a robbie farah or a benji marshall or gareth ellis or simon dwyer topic on this forum- i end up looking at it before anything else. i wouldnt be surprised with "James Tedesco". Dont give a crap about the other two drama queens

Its a bit hard to move on when they are still wearing our jersey every week not having a go. Come October, all eyes will be on round 1 2018.

I don't know if I can be bothered breaking it down.
The players are not dogging it.
If any thing they are doing too much and trying too hard.
I feel both Tedesco and Woods have spent the whole year trying to prove to everyone that they are doing everything they can for the tigers and as a result over playing their hand.
Moses was different. Since the club decided not to sign moses, he was basically forced to be Brooks supporting player. And you appreciate that if your expected to play out the year not playing your natural game that that could make you mentally drained. We had 2 halfbacks in our team the reality is one had to go.
As far as effort goes, Moses still through himself into every tackle until he left, he was far from the worst on ground in that souths game.
All I'm saying is the black white and gold glasses need to be taken off for some, their is a bigger picture and you can't hate the players for knowing that if they stayed together the result would be the same on going.
Notice how they all went to different clubs even though there was a lot of talk about being a packaged deal.

What a load of crap :roll

_"As far as effort goes, Moses still through himself into every tackle until he left, he was far from the worst on ground in that souths game."_
**Then I must have been watching the wrong games.
IMHO Woods was still trying hard and as for Tedesco, well I'm still not sure. Thought he was either out of form or trying too hard to please.
But after SOO (even allowing for better players around him) it was a mighty improvement in both attack and defence. Real question mark there.
If the players reckon they didn't know what was/is going on, try supporting them! ATM I just want a team where we can see they've tried their best because that just ain't happening.**

The club will move on. The forums will not. The people will not care.

This will sound weird but I have more interest in Cronulla because of the Tiger Sharks. I love seeing Chris Heighington, Andrew Fifita or Beau Ryan take it too them. I like seeing Robbie play at Souths. Not sure if I will like watching Moses or Tedesco but I will want to see Wood's make his hitups. Would gladly take Fifita back and Marshall could do a swansong year at the right price.

We built these awesome people. They are Tigers Juniors and those Juniors won Origin. That's something to be proud about.

Still love the players, hate the greedy player manager who tried playing games and just moved his players out. Teddy, Woodsie and Moses may you do well.

The really positive thing about this forum is that people are allowed to voice their opinions and make their own suggestions or judgements. While it's great that posters get fired up about their ideas, I think it's important that respect is maintained for the opinions of others. It's only a game after all….

I think the Tedesco, Woods and Moses threads should be removed. Everything that could be said about these players, their plans, attitudes and form has been said. Nothing can be done to change their decisions and while we can feel disappointment, anger and, for some, hatred, it does no good to dwell on what happened. Actually, to be continually whinging and analysing them, can only be described as futile and negative. Time to move forward, be positive about the club's future direction and support the whole team, including Tedesco and Woods, for the remainder of the season. To be honest, I find the regular appearance of the Tedesco thread at the top of the Contract Rumours topic list annoying because I'm well and truly over it and only want to focus on the new signings. Another suggestion I would make is that there are separate threads for each rumoured signing, eg Milne, Johnston, Elliot, etc. Once again, my opinion.......time to get rid of the Tedesco, Woods and Moses threads now!

Huh..all those rumoured players mentioned there do have their own threads in the contract section…i just had a quick look and found that super solid Corey Thompson has 2 all to his own...

We don't just remove all reference to any player or coach or whatever who leave the Wests Tigers for whatever reason...those threads die their natural death eventually..When Woods Teddy and Moses become non-topical they will too..just like Robbie Farah's 300+ page Epic...or someone will bump them in 3 years time or start a new one much like this one...

Hang on. You started by saying how much you respected the opinion of others. Then you go on to say certain opinions should be censored. How hard is it not to open a thread? There's dozens of threads i have no interest in, but i'd never call for them to be locked because i found it annoying seeing them constantly coming up in the feed.

So you would rather discuss a merger between Balmain and North Sydney rather than players who are still at this club and are running it down in the media? Gotcha. Close it down lads, im convinced.

Well there certainly is some venom in some of these posts,I have come to terms that the mentioned players are going elsewhere next year and I really don't care….I will look forward to the next WTs game with or without these mentioned players being here, after all it is the WTs that I love and support..
As many know I do post an opinion clearly with my personal thoughts about a particular subject, wether positive or negative to many it is just my opinion,we don't all agree all of the time, that is human nature,it would be a boring world if we all thought the same all the time..
My main perspective regarding this particular thread is,although star players are leaving and were basically raised as juniors, the time to move on has come for them for whatever reason,it happens in all walks of life,if people like to hate or despise their moves or attitudes then that's up to them,I don't want to get into calling them names or belittling them, they themselves with their attitudes do that themselves.
My main thoughts on this situation we find ourselves in,goes back to the time of the merger between our two great traditional clubs...from early on there was a tug of war going on between members of the boards, this has now ceased with the inception of an Independant board and although we have had some hurdles and hard decisions to get over we do seem to be in a far better place with the appointment of Ivan Cleary as head coach,we are no longer a " boys club" so to speak and we are no longer being dictated to by certain players and their managers..
I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the season as well as 2018,we are heading in the right direction as a team and club,we must stay positive and have faith in whatever the board, coach and management are doing for the club..
As far as any players over the years that have gone elsewhere,I wished them and the recent ones best of luck in their future endeavours..

I dislike seeing threads removed. Not just here but from any forum I post on. It is over moderation and we are adults. We can choose not to read threads that don't interest us. I'm sick of all the hatred aimed at the departing players (it's so boring). But I strongly agree with with what some astute individual once said. It was something like, I may not agree with your opinion but I'll defend to the death your right to air it. Freedom of speech. Sadly missing on most forums.

No, I didn't say opinions should be censored GNR and, it's true, I do respect others' opinions. My suggestion regarding the taking down of the 'Big Three' contract threads has to do with them being old news. Their titles include the word 'Contract' and the majority of their content was about the contract issue. The fact is that they have all made their decision regarding where they will play and they have signed their contracts so why continue with them? However, I do concede that for some posters constant picking at the wounds is irresistible and for that reason, maybe, the threads should stay. And Stryker, my discussion about the merger process was a genuine inquiry, something separate to the current contract issues. I found it interesting and I was happy to have the events explained to me by people who knew more about it.

And it's true, there are already threads for Milne, Johnston, Elliot, etc…... What I meant to say was that maybe it would be good if all the information pertaining to them could be kept on their own threads, instead of the lengthy general thread.
