To celebrate 11/11/11

It is not a celebration, it is a remembrance. We do not celebrate on this special day….we remember.

Gee you must be popular at parties… 2 things:

1 - Try to relax, live a little, and be a little less condescending...
2 - It's a reference to the calendar date (11/11/11 - check the title) not Remembrance Day.

Seriously dude...

I am a very popular person…how did you know that. I am so laid back and content I make other people feel relaxed. I am not here to criticize Yossarian... you used the word celebrate with a reference to a date. Having been there and done that I thought I should make a comment for those who have been there and done that but who no longer can make their own comment.

Then make it in another thread. I was just having fun with the fact it is 11/11 in 2011\. It had nothing whatsoever to do with Remembrance Day and to suggest I'd make fun or celebrate it is, frankly, insulting.

ohhh man there's always one or 2 on every forum.

Suzie Q and Qunitus you guys have totally missed the point of this thread. Yossarian was just trying to have a laugh with a reference to Spinal Tap on the 11/11/11\. I thought it was funny, and than i go on to read your replies….geez, get off your high horses. You guys clearly dont get it. Its got nothing to do with Remembrance day. Which just happens to also be today. The joke could have easily been on the 12/12/12 but that would than stuff up the joke cause its all about an 11!!!!!!!!

The title of the thread is "To celebrate 11/11/11" not "To celebrate on the 11th of the 11th and be disrespectful to others".

Just a little thinking before you post can go a long way.

Sounds like you are having fun Spartan Have a good weekend mate Wife gets home after back surgery in BrisVegas tomorrow And I was having so much fun being Mr Mum

It depends how you define celebrate. I feel that Remembrance Day and Anzac Day are both days where I, and my family (including the missus' folks, both having a rich military history,) celebrate the men and women who shared ideals and virtues that classically embody and define the Australian spirit, and through that they have given ultimate sacrifice to protect those virtues so that we may, even if only slightly compared to them, grow into the same people as those we remember.

CB the thread is NOT about Remembrance Day… It is about the calendar throwing up the date 11/11/11
We can have a different thread about what you raise which is a perfectly legitimate discussion but it is has nothing to do with my OP which was just a bit of fun with the date.

Fair enough mate. I just object to the suggestion (not my you) that I'm trivialising Remembrance Day.
