Todd Payten names NYC team

Wests Tigers NYC Coach Todd Payten has named his side to play Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium on Monday, March 11.

The match kicks off at 4.45pm.

Defending Premiers Wests Tigers will be looking for a strong start to the season.

Kurtis Row, Matt Mulcahy, Nathan Brown, Kyle Lovett and Brenden Santi are the only players from last year's Grand Final winning team that will line up for Wests Tigers against the Knights.

1\. Kurtis Rowe
2\. Delouise Hoeter
3\. Nathan Milone
4\. Leva Li
5\. Paul Simona
6\. Matt Mulcahy
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Nathan Brown
9\. Nofoa Lepai
10\. Kyle Lovett
11\. Andrew Vela
12\. Salesi Funaki
13\. Brendan Santi

14\. Shane Lalogafau
15\. Andy Fiagatusa
16\. Jake Dooner
17\. Manaia Cherrington
19\. Daniel Rakvin
20\. Manaia Rudolph

Nathan Brown, Lovett, Santi, Vela, all within the one forward pack, it looks ridiculously strong. Lots of potential in that team for there to be a good year.

to let him dominate is my guess
maybe so potter can watch him st the same time.

Good forward pack feel sorry for mania Rudolph seems to me that he is good enough for nyc but we can't seem to find a place for him

Strange decision with Brooks he played all 3 trials in NSW cup now back to NYC. I'm sure Potter can watch him just as well at Shark park on Sunday.

Mania Rudolph was the top points scorer in the regular season now his on the outer. It's Sheens like the way Payten played him all over the place in the trials.

To be fair it is a coach's prerogative to experiment with his side to hopefully find a successful line-up. For example McGuire at the Rabbitohs would never have found out how effective Inglis is at fullback if he was just content to leave him in the centres and stick to the same-old same-old, so sometimes shuffling players around can be beneficial IMO.

Also let's not forget Payten managed to win the comp last year, first year up, so obv his strategies have paid off.

Glad to see vela back playing, surprised ravkin isn't in the 17\. What's happened to brad soe, is he injured or just fallen out of favour?

I think he's injured at the moment.

Good to see Andrew Vela back in action. A former Aus schoolboy at the same time as Siro jr if memory serves. I believe he was out injured most of last year?
